My first worldpackers experience!! And it was all I could ask for. Wp team was informative and helpful & host was well organised. All the residents and long-term volunteers at the project were super friendly and welcoming. This made my first week at the café much more enjoyable and less stressful, even though it was also my first ever time working in hospitality. Working hours are well respected and the great team we had made time pass super quick (also thanks to the opening and closing times with Camillas music 🙏) Big thanks to all the cafe managers Aurélie, Camilla, Liam and Lobon (kitchen

My time at MKMC has been life changing. You will not find a better, kinder, safer, welcoming group of people or place. It is peaceful, beautiful, present in quiet nature, they're flexible with work and understanding of limitations or your preferences, easy to walk into town or a quick taxi, and it will help you grow and transform your perspective if you are open to it. You'll meet the most beautiful people, have amazing conversation, get to learn amazing new things and truly enrich your life far beyond just your time spent here. All my love to this the project- I'll be back! <3

My experience at the project was incredible! Working at the cafe was such a nice experience, even though being very busy. I could learn how to be a Barista and also work at the till. The working hours are well respected, as are the meals. It was the perfect opportunity to meet people from all around the world and get to know more about each one's culture! I made good friends there and I just wish I can go back in some other time. I really recommend this experience!

It's a unique experience to live in a beautiful castle surrounded by nature, forests, the bay, with wonderful people from different parts of the world, and the opportunity to meditate in the beautiful temple.

Volunteering at the project Buddhist Temple was unforgettable. From the start, I felt warmly welcomed by everyone, including monks and fellow volunteers. I helped with household tasks and summer festival preparations. I also had the opportunity to learn about Buddhism and participate in some classes. The temple, surrounded by nature, was peaceful and inspiring. Sharing this experience with wonderful people made me feel truly part of a caring community 😊

I loved my time at the project! The grounds and meditations were lovely, but my favorite part was the people. I was in the kitchen, where the main job was cutting vegetables and cleaning. I worked with Buddhist monks, nuns, and volunteers from all over the world! The volunteer culture is very positive and social, the volunteers I met were by far the highlight of my trip. Things to note: Volunteers aren't told their assigned departments until arrival Art studio volunteers work an 5 extra hours weekly (not advertised on worldpackers) Work hours were 9–5 with breaks totaling two hours

Volunteering at the project was a wonderful experience for me, I feel grateful for it 🙏🏼 I learned about Buddhism and felt the love, kindness, and respect all around from the Buddhist community which inspired me ❤️ I also met lovely volunteers, shared beautiful moments together, and each one added something to me ❤️ My volunteering role was in the café, from 10 to 5 including a one-hour break. The work was diverse, light, and fulfilling for me, and the atmosphere was very good. One thing worth mentioning there were some changes in the volunteer role 2 weeks before the annual summer festival.
