The project is truly a precious place, it goes far beyond a simple volunteering experience. If you are looking for something meaningful and unique, this is the right place to go. This is my second time here, and it's a place I know I will always return to. It's ideal for those who want to be genuinely involved with the center, participate in meditations, and attend teachings and classes. Living and working alongside the monks is a rare experience that teaches valuable qualities such as kindness, self-awareness, balance, clarity and empathy, lessons I will carry with me for life.

The environment at welcoming, relaxed, and reflective. I had a great time learning more about Buddhist culture and finding so real peace in a beautiful location with amazing people. The work is not too difficult with decent breaks in a simple 9-5. I will say that if you have bad food allergies, ensure you discuss this with the team as this may complicate your stay. But I'd highly recommend and a grateful for the peace I found there.

It was a great experience, and being surrounded by volunteers from all over the world made it even better. The place is beautiful, but the castle is a 40-minute walk from the nearest town, and the shift ends at 5 pm, so if you're traveling in winter when it's already dark, there might not be much to do. But everyone is very friendly, the food is good and there are always plenty of snacks

It was simply amazing. I worked in the art studio, and it couldn't have been better. I learned things I never imagined I would learn and grew and developed so much, both personally and professionally I'm deeply grateful to everyone, especially Erica, Lupe, and Rodrigo, who supported me and helped me a lot in the studio. I also met wonderful people and had the opportunity to learn more about the project Buddhism by attending classes and meditations, which made this experience even more special and truly transformative

My time at Manjushiri was truly a wonderful experience, I was able to meet tge most interesting people, be inspired by buddhism and learn to practice the project. I was lucky to work in the cafè but be prepared to work and be ready to step in when other departments need a hand. Household can require longer hours or work and manual labor but the team is always willing to help. The community is welcoming and it's easy to feel at home.

I loved going to the project, workshops and talk with the residents, because I learned a lot about myself and the Buddhist tradition. I spent my time at the Café working mainly as a barista. I learned how to do latte art and it quickly became one of the most enjoyable parts of my routine. What stayed with me were the shared meals at the long table by the window overlooking the garden, speaking English, Spanish and Portuguese all at once, a joyful mess. The unexpected hugs that paused the rush, the discreet smiles of the monks passing by, and the constant mix of voices from people sharing the same space. Living with volunteers from so many places, switching between languages and stories, gave the days a rhythm I won't forget.

The project taught me many things about Buddhism. Each inhabitant warmly immerses you in the tradition. They speak to you of inner peace and good deeds. The camaraderie with the other volunteers...It's an experience I'll never stop being grateful for. Being in the art studio and knowing that you're part of creating beautiful statues for the service of the project world is one of the best things I'll take away from this. I definitely recommend the experience if you want to fill yourself with love for the world. Thank you the project Center, Tsalden and Constance for making me feel part of a them. 🪷
