This was my first time volunteering in a hostel, and I could not of asked for a better first time experience, full of amazing people in a amazing place. Work is very fair for the benefits received, very fun place to work! I liked it so much I've decided to stay for a while, would definitely recommend! :)

I totally enjoyed my time in the hostel. The atmosphere is incredible and it kinda feels like a big supportive Family. The communication between the staff and the volunteers is really good. The (volunteer) manager Christian is a lovely and understanding person. The amount of work in comparison to your free time is pretty fair and you will have enough time to explore the city and even to make a trip to Estonia or Lithuania. I really gonna miss the folk dancing and the heartwarming people I've met there. I can totally recommend to volunteer at this hostel.

From the first day I arrived the staff was there to make me feel at home. They also take the volunteers to do stuff together outside of the hostel. The tasks and hours are respected, I even had time to visit Vilnius. Christian is really flexible and will always try to create the best working atmosphere. I would really recommend this place if you want to have an amazing time! the hostel would not be the same without the amazing people who are working there!🫶🏽

I had an amazing time volunteering at the hostel, the work was never too heavy and the shifts were planned in a way that allowed us to have plenty of free time to explore the city and its surroundings. The place has an amazing atmosphere and Latvian folk dance was truly the highlight of the week! Thank you Christian for being such a wonderful manager and to all the staff members and volunteers that made my experience so pleasant and fun <3

This was my first volunteering experience and by far the best decision. I've stayed there for a month which was the perfect time to experience the city & surrounding. You could for example take 2 days off and visit to tallinn or vilnius :) (christian respects every preference for the weekly schedule & the working hours are reasonable) the work was easy and varied and every staff member is helpful and nice. I felt welcome and at home my whole journey and met amazing people. the hostel has a remarkable social and cozy atmosphere. I loved every moment there :)

I had an awesome time here. I started out as a guest in summer and then came back as a volunteer ovwr xmas/NYE because the vibe was just so good! It's a great hostel, the work is light compared to a lot of other hostels with varying types of shifts and projects. Volunteers have their own (large) room which is always nice and the staff are great! I really feel at home here and I highly recommend it!

Honestly this was the best experience EVER!!🫶 Eventhough it was a cold January there were so many activities I did with guests and staff and the hostel is the best place to meet other cool travelers! Christian and everyone was so welcoming and didn't hesitate to help and make me feel at home since the second I arrived. My stay at the hostel's was so much better than I expected it to be all thanks to the amazing people I met here 🥰.

My stay at the hostel's was my first volunteer experience, and I really loved it. From the moment I stepped into the hostel, I felt welcomed, and over the course of almost five weeks, this place really formed into a kind of home. I had a lot of fun participating in folkdancing and going to karaoke every other night. Also the schedule was great, I had lots of time to discover places in and surrounding Riga, even managed to visit Vilnius and Tallinn for a bit. I'm very thankful for this experience and all the new friends I made during this time! Can only recommend this place! :)

Pros :Staff are friendly Hostel is overall really cozy Location is good Cons: Management lied when they said there would only be over 18's and no big groups Management micro managed some volunteers to an extreme level Management can treat some volunteers worse(scheduling) depending on how much they like them. Appreciation from management is not shown so don't go over and beyond. In conclusion staff are friendly but management need improving. I personally had a good time but I wasn't happy with the way they treated other volunteers.
