My time spent with the home Colleen is by far one of the favorite memories I'll have of traveling. The work was exciting and just as expected and agreed upon. the home Colleen were more than fair with accommodating trips and also actively helped and offered to take me to see the amazing sites their slice of the world had to offer. As people they are truly some of the kindest and most knowledgeable I've ever met and our long chats and games after work everyday were priceless to me. I highly recommend this experience for anyone who can find comfort in a rural area and real growth and learning.

Even though we were there during a strange time for the home Colleen they truly went above and beyond to make us feel at home and teach us all that we wanted to know. When you're there it feels like you're part of their amazing family and I couldn't be more thankful. Both the home Colleen have been an inspiration for me in so many different fields. I think we have learnt more in these 2 months than I would in 2 years! If you want to learn more about gardening and a rural lifestyle this is the place for you. The closest village Kerikeri is 20 min away so having your own car is a plus.

I had a truly amazing experience at the home place! I learned a lot about gardening, orchardry and all kinds of handyman jobs. the home also gave me and my girlfriend lots of tips on how to build our own furniture for in our van. Colleen is also a lovely woman who knows a ton about making and preserving food. Truly inspiring people who know a lot about self sustainability and having lots of fun.

A truly amazing experience. The house is located about 20 minutes from Kerikeri. You can learn a lot about gardening here. the home is a brilliant mind and Colleen is the best cook in New Zealand. If you are learning English it is the ideal place. It is important to consider that it is a remote place, there is no public transport as in all the towns of New Zealand.

I can't say enough good things about this place. The work is exactly what is agreed upon beforehand, and they are both extremely respectful of your time and ability. It was nothing that I couldn't handle, just some work around the house, and working outside wherever it needed it (raking soil and leaves, pruning, helping to build an espalier structure, etc). But more importantly to me, they were both so kind and caring, and really made me feel like I was a part of their family. They were always so accommodating, and were always happy to chat with me. Thank you both so much:) !
