Poggiolo is a peaceful mountain refuge near Bologna, surrounded by beautiful peaks. It serves as both a hostel and a restaurant. I helped clean rooms and bathrooms, prepare breakfast, assist in the kitchen, and set up the dining area. Tasks were shared with volunteers and usually done in a few hours, though we sometimes helped after meals. Room was shared with volunteers. The sunsets, delicious food and WWII history made the place feel special. On our day off, we were driven to the nearby train station. Thank you for having me, I'm truly grateful to have contributed to this experience. Grazie!

It was my first volunteer experience and I absolutely LOVED it! I'll never forget the wonderful people I met and the stunning view of the mountains. Poggiolo can be either really busy or calm and relaxing, depending on the time you're staying. Volunteers are mostly responsible for taking care of the hostel rooms and bathrooms, but there are also smaller tasks around the restaurant. On your days off you can go hiking, explore cities like Bologna or Florence or just relax in the yurt. And don't miss Mike's hot chocolate – highly recommended ;) Thank you so much for the great time with you!

This was the most beautiful travel experience I ever had. The staff was very welcoming, always ready to help and listen to your needs. The work was easy and flexible, I could manage my time freely as I worked online throughout most of my stay. I had opportunities to travel to see the cities around Bologna on my free days. Even though the place is quite far away from public transport stations, the hosts always offered to give a lift. The place is stunning, it's perfect if you like hiking or just relaxing in nature. I'm forever grateful for all the people of the host Poggiolo <33

I loved my time in Poggiolo!! I've met some of the nicest people there and everyone, who worked there, was very welcoming, open and kind and always ready to take you somewhere, be it to the supermarket or a trainstation. I definitely won't forgot that place ever and I can only recommend it to everyone!! Missing this place already.

It was an amazing experience! the host Poggiolo is a fantastic place with the best people in it! It is quite remote but they'll take you to the train station if you want to go to Bologna or some other place. The work is simple and it's essentially cleaning the hostel, common areas and help at the restaurant by dinner time. The working hours are respected. The food is delicious and everyone who works there is so special and thoughtful. I can't recommend this place enough. The location is mind-blowing! You'll enjoy every second of it! Thank u Angelo, Nadia, Cassa, Miki, Flo, Laura, Elena. Arrivederci
