The Experience

We have a large Georgian house with an interesting, beautiful and very overgrown grounds made up of a Victorian water garden, woods, large lake and meadow. We need help in trying to restore these gardens to how they would have looked in Georgian times - 1820s. Also if you're interested we will be doing some lime painting and how it helps these old houses survive. Any questions please ask.

Natasha and Quentin are both warm and very welcoming people, and Natasha is an excellent chef! Most of the work is in the garden with a bit of cleaning and they make sure you only do the set hours. The tasks are also varied so you often work on different things everyday. You have a lovely room at the top of the house. I'd definitely recommend this experience and it's a great place to get off your phone and be in nature. Everything is a bit far away but they have a bike if you're up to it or the closest bus stop is about a 45 min walk.

I loved my time at the home. Natasha and Quentin are marvelous people! They are kind and generous and make you feel at home, and they are very sweet towards each other, so the atmosphere in the house is a loving one. The tasks included painting, weeding, cleaning and help building a chicken crop. When needed they provided me with appropriate clothes for the job. Natasha is an excellent cook and we always had delicious meals and desserts together. For my free time they gave me a list of nice places to visit and lend me a bike. They are 30' to 50' away from the coast, which is beautiful

My time at the home was so lovely! Natasha and Quentin are such amazing hosts. The work during my exchange was mostly gardening, cleaning, or painting, and the instructions were always clear and working time respected. Natasha is a fabulous cook and meals shared with them were always an enjoyable time with great conversation. The location is decently far from many towns, so prepare for some longer walks or bike rides if you want to see them. Thank you Natasha and Quentin!

I'm truly grateful for the unforgettable experience at the home. Natasha and Quentin were incredibly kind and made me feel at home. The house is in a beautiful location, surrounded by beaches and picturesque towns, perfect for exploring. I enjoyed my tasks (gardening and cleaning) and appreciated the clear instructions and provided equipment. I'm glad I could help make this place even more beautiful. If you're thinking of volunteering in the UK, this place is a MUST. Hospitality, delicious food, great company, and living in a historic house were wonderful. Thank you both for everything<3
