This review is about opening the new hostel JUNGLE HOUSE in construction team! Dan & Seb since the beginning told me that my tasks will be different and at the new hostel, which I appreciate it so I can have an image of my time there. Big shoutout to the best manager ever! PAUL! He was amazing with the construction team, respect the hours and he is always around in case you need any help. He is truly such a wonderful person, if you volunteer at jungle house, tell him I say hi! The new hostel is located so well, 5 min from bus stops, 5 min from groceries and all at short walk distance.

This was my first time as a volunteer and I'm glad I ended up here. (I was part of the Compass Hostel team, not the hostel) I met a lot of people, made new friends and had the best time. The hostel is quite new, clean and in a good location. The whole hostel team, volunteers and the manager, were super nice and chill. I definitely recommend this place :)

I was disappointed. Not only by the living conditions in heat, the cockroaches and run-down facilities, but also by the lack of any social activites. If I did not find one by myself, there would not be one. Due to the heat I was always alone during my very long shifts. So I decided to quit this experience after 2 weeks. I really think the place has potential and I met a few wonderful people, but the mood was generally unsatisfied. But we made the best out of it. I have to say it was low-season, which I neither knew or expected in august.. this explains (only) the small amount of guests.

I met a lot of great people, what's make my experience amazing. The work wasn't hard, it was super easy, manager is really cool:)) Unfortunately I didn't like the hostel where I lived, it was too mess and unorganization for me. We had small room and window go inside the reception - inside the building (0% air in the room). I saw few cockroaches in the kitchen, and we had bedbugs in a few rooms (not in the volunteer's room). I left earlier than I planned. Anyway, all your experience depends on people you will meet.

I spent a fantastic month in this hostel, I met really wonderful people and we had a lot of fun together. Shifts last 7 hours and can be either in the morning or in the afternoon, but then you have 3 days off which you can use to explore the island. Unfortunately in Las Palmas in August there isn't much to do, the clubs aren't the best and the hostel doesn't organize events on the terrace. Also the island is full of cockroaches which can be really annoying at times. Despite this, I really enjoyed this experience and I recommend it to everyone, I would definitely do it again!

I didn't stay at the hostel, I was in Jungle House. It was by far the best month of my life, but it was more the other volunteers whom I was with that made it so. Jungle became our home and we became a family. I highly recommend during summer

My experience at the hostel was absolutely horrible. It wasn't my first experience in a hostel and I was looking forward to another one, little did I know… My arrival was absolute chaos, nobody was here to welcome me, nobody showed me around, they just left me in my room. My first day working was so messy and unorganized, plus I was by myself the next day. The hostel is also very dirty, it resulted in a lack of motivation to keep it clean, and the owners/managers didn't seem thankful at all, they just let you run the place. The hostel is neglected and I was so disappointed.

Volunteering at the hostel was the first Worldpackers experience for me and it was really amazing! The manager Fatima and other volunteers were super welcoming and friendly and also patient with our mutual language barriers since I didn't know a lot of Spanish :) So after getting used to the new routine I really felt at home. The work wasn't at all hard, the tasks were displayed straightforward so everyone knew what they have to do on their shift. Fell in love with Las Palmas and will come back!! Thank You the hostel!!

Let me clarify that I did not stay in the hostel but in Jungle. I also did not work in the hostel but on the apartment team. Overall my experience was OK, but I hope the next one will be better. The workload was not worth just my stay in the hostel as the hostel itself is unfinished and cheap anyways. I quite liked both managers of the apartment team, but the owners themselves were distant and seemed happy to let others run their businesses. A lot of the guests were older men and acted inappropriately w/ the volunteers and during my stay there was no manager in the hostel itself which was messy
