The Experience
We are James and Grace. We manage a small guesthouse on the edge of the beautiful Wicklow hills in Ireland. This is a colorful and funky house with great people passing through and staying over to mainly explore the Wicklow hills and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Our place has a great atmosphere and is always homely and welcoming to many guests from all over the world. The households max of 20 guests. You'll help us with daily tasks :)

Volunteering at this place was an amazing experience! The location is fantastic, and the owners and manager are incredibly kind and welcoming. Everything was perfect — they're super flexible and always willing to help with anything you need. I felt at home from the moment I arrived. I'm beyond grateful for everything they've done for me. I loved staying at the guest house! The place is wonderful, calming and in the middle of nature. It is remote and very quiet but for nature loving people it is perfect! Grace and James where super friendly and AnneMarie the manager is great! I met a lot of different people and where able to do different hikes. I would definately recommend this place!

My stay at the guest house was incredibly enriching. Grace and James truly know how to manage volunteers, ensuring a well-organized & smooth experience. I loved being able to choose ingredients weekly, making meals more personalized to my tastes. The house is comfortable, well-maintained, and has a cozy atmosphere that made me feel at home. Annemarie, the manager, was the best I've had—clear in her instructions, patient, calm, and welcoming. It's an ideal spot for hiking, with a true connection to nature. Enjoy the traditional Irish music in Roundwood, savoring a traditional Irish breakfast here.

The guest house is a magical place surrounded by beautiful views and nature. If you enjoy hiking like I do and want to connect with nature and yourself, it's an ideal spot for a new experience. The hostel is somewhat removed from public transportation; the nearest area is Roundwood. The work has five shifts, morning and afternoon. It's not difficult, but there are quite a few tasks to complete. The most challenging part has been doing both cleaning+laundry. Everything was as agreed, except for the early check-ins, as guests occasionally arrived before the shift started.
