My first experience as a volunteer has been wonderful at this hostel. Robin and Naoko are wonderful people and the work was very well organised. You meet people from all over the world and you also have enough time to explore the city and its surroundings. I would recommend this experience 100%.

Living and working in the Tromsø the hostel was an all-around learning experience that I would truly recommend and do it all over again. Not only you can visit such a unique place in the world but you will have the opportunity to meet and compare daily with several travelers so different from you and one another, which leads you to understand and see new points of view. It helps to become more independent because Robin trusts us volunteers very much and expect from us self-management and problem solving. Once part of the group you will immediately feel part of it no matter what.

My first volunteering experience has been amazing and I can only recommend this place if you are looking for connections with wonderful people from all over the world. I felt welcome from the first second on and I felt like home until the moment I left. I made so many beautiful memories with all the nice people I met during my 3 months stay in the hostel. The hostel is the perfect place if you want to explore the surroundings because you have a lot of freetime to go for hikes, aurora hunts, snowaboarding and more The hosts are super nice & flexible and the communication & team work is top!!

Robin & Naoko are two excellent hosts with many years behind them working and running hostels. Two very kind individuals who are always there if you need them. Daily tasks are very well organized, with more than sufficient time to explore Tromsø or the nearby areas. The rest of volunteers really help make it such a special time. I have loved to see and learn how a hostel works and operates and it's been great to bring my own hospitality experience here also. It has been just what I had imagined, I'm so happy to have been given the opportunity to come to Tromsø and now call it my home!

The hostel life is amazing, you have time to do everything you want after work and you can enjoy the guests and also the local people, if you love outdoor sports tromso is the perfect balance between city and wildlife . Robin and Naoko are the perfect host for this place

Robin & Naoko were very welcoming, easy to communicate with, and altogether great hosts. They make you feel welcome, respected, and are flexible if you have any requests. For example, they were happy to let a few of us take some days off to have a road trip to Lapland, which was fantastic. The hostel is one of the best places I've been to when it comes to making new friends, going on tours together and having a lot of fun. And together with other volunteers we became like a family. It was some of the best times of my life. Highly recommend :)

My stay at Tromsø the hostel has been very good. I've had the opportunity to meet many people, both volunteers and guests, and it has been very gratifying for me socially speaking. The relationship with the owners has also been perfect and there have been no problems regarding the tasks I have done and what was proposed to me before coming. I've been able to know the local culture and do many hikings in the spectacular landscapes so I recommend it to anyone who is thinking of volunteering here in Tromsø.

To summarize my 4-week experience: it was heartwarming and totally wonderful! The host and his wife are very caring, helpful and sweet and my working hours never extended the limit. I've met many lovely international people and we even tried hunting for Northern lights. And Tromsø is just beautiful. Thus, I was really satisfied with the work at the hostel, Tromsø and all the time I've had for my hiking adventures!
