The Experience

In our hostel, we've long relied on volunteers to make ends meet. Many people have started with us and ended up moving to Tromso. We're right in the middle of the city so it's easy to getting around. The tasks are mostly to tidy up the rooms and common areas, and some laundry is also expected. Weekly we clean the fridges of leftover food and do deep cleans. Reception and helping guests if they have any questions and that's pretty much it! :)

A wonderful experience with all the volunteers. Naoko and Robin were very kind, flexible with schedules, and took us on tours. I would definitely volunteer again!

This has been the best volunteering experience I have had so far. Workload is not much, you get to meet many people, host is friendly and flexible. There are different tasks like cleaning, construction and reception. You get time to explore the area and go hiking. If you love dogs, this is your place. Burger (the dog) demands love and walks. Initially I intended to stay for only a month but I decided to extend as I was having such a good time. I definitely recommend it to everyone.

My stay in Tromsø was a dream. The place is very comfortable, located in the city center, the tasks are simple, and the schedule is super flexible! A wonderful experience that I highly recommend! I only have words of gratitude ❤️

My experience at the hostel was short, because of a family emergency, but great! Naoko was always just a text away and helped with anything we needed. The other volunteers were super nice and the atmosphere in the house was very welcoming. The tasks were simple and not very long. Unfortunately, for my italian standards, the staff house was not the cleanest. It's completely managed by volunteers, so it reflects on the people you have around... but other than that was filled with all the basics. The only thing missing, that I would add is lockers for the volunteers valuables.

It was the best experience I've never had. Naoko and Robin are so flexible with the schedule and kind people. Sometimes, if there is any spot free, you can join the northern lights tour and it's so incredible. The shifts are easy and you have enough time to visit the city. I really miss all the volunteers, we were like a really family with Burger. I can't wait to come back.
