There were pros and a ton of cons to this trip for me! The job was fantastic and I had so much fun working the socials in collaboration with Micheal. Unfortunately Micheal is not onsite and the other permanent staff was not as welcoming. I saw the actual owner making young women uncomfortable by coming on to them. Tamarindo is nicknamed Tamagringo by the locals. It's touristy and the prices match that, everything is extremely expensive. You even pay outrageous prices to rent boards, lessons and excursions from the camp. So come prepared to spend a lot of money spend most time with tourists.

In the beginning I was a little bit overwhelmed because of the amount of people at the camp (and the City Tamarindo which is quite expensive) But within a few days I met a lot of amazing people and made great great friendships! So give yourself a few days to really settle in. Camp was great as was the food we got and the management of volunteering was very nice + funny:) I had a fun time with a lot of things to see and experience

I think that unless you are an extreme extrovert which most people were, you won't enjoy it as much. I feel like it forces you to be and extrovert not in the best way and it's super draining. The tasks were great, I enjoyed them and they weren't hard. The food was great, the cook is amazing. There is a nice pool to refresh and ping pong to keep you busy. It is quite far from the city, but if you are a nature lover you would love it. Overall depends on the type of person you are that will determine if you will enjoy your time at the surf camp.

The surf camp is the perfect place if you are into chilling all day, surfing, meeting new people and partying :) the work is really easy, you do only one hour a day ! But if you want to learn something or discover the surrounding or do something meaningful, the surf camp is definitely not the place :)

It's a great place to meet so many travelers! The work is easy and the atmosphere is super social. Definitely glamping more than bunk dorms like in most hostels. More remote and further from town they have a lot at the camp but do charge voulenteers exactly as they charge guests for anything extra like a towel or freshly made sheets.

I loved the surf camp! there were a few things they could've improved, mainly the cleanliness. Our dorms weren't cleaned once during my three week stay and getting clean sheets cost 6$. As there was construction next door there was a lot of dust flying in. There were also a lot of bugs (cockroaches, wasps, …) but I kind of expected that. There were a lot more things that i liked though! The staff was super kind, and the volunteering was super chill as most of the people there were volunteers, so there was no pressure to be perfect. I made so many friends here, I definitely reccomend it!

I had a great time at the surf camp! Lovely people and a beautiful camp! Unfortunately the camp is not in Tamarindo, so you're not to flexible with getting to town and back. the surf camp is great for meeting international travelers but not much for getting to know locals or culture. They plan many activities for everyone which was always fun! If Tamarindo wasn't so expensive, I would definitely go back.

The surf camp is such a chill environment with amazing people from all over the world. Listen for monkeys, do yoga & surf. Everyday is a good day, whether you're chilling at camp, going on excursions or hanging out in town. Do the excursions, best part! This hostel is definitely more of a party hostel than expected, but also great for digital nomads as well. the surf camp is kinda far from town and isn't fun to walk to/from town in the heat/dust kicked up from cars in the middle of the day, so Ubers/cab drivers are going to be your main transportation, unless you take the free shuttle provided.

I had a great time at the surf camp! I surfed almost every day and met amazing people. The other volunteers are what made this experience special. Everyone was so kind & had wonderful energy. Play flunky ball & go on the excursions! I definitely recommend the surf camp, but there are things I would've liked to know ahead of time. Pick a job that had a consistent time, as the manager doesn't provide notice if you work a shift that isn't daily. Management switched beds without notice & people returned to camp with their things in garbage bags. Despite this, the 3 weeks I spent here were really special.

It was an amazing experience for sure . You meet amazing people from all over the world , you get great surf lessons and lots of parties . There is yoga every day which is amazing and the food was delicious thanks to Gustavo . You wake up in the middle of the jungle and on the way to the bathroom you always spot some monkeys . Def a place to connect with nature and if you like to party that's the right spot to be :)
