Be a Surf & Yoga instructor at a Surf Camp in Costa Rica!

The experience at the surf camp is really what you make of it, it's a very social environment which makes it easy to meet new friends. If you want to chill out and relax you can, or you can party. The volunteer work is very reasonable which means you can spend every day at the beach surfing if you want to. I learned to surf during my stay here and enjoyed the many excursions we did (these do cost you extra). The camp does prioritize its guests before the volunteers for activities but you don't even notice who is a guest and who is a volunteer.

The surf camp is a great spot to meet tons of new people! The accommodations are basic, but that's to be expected out in the jungle. The work done is super easy and more than fair. The meals are amazing and well worth the 15 dollars. Tamarindo is super touristy, but also a great beginner surf beach. It's a great spot to meet people to travel onwards with as well. Many of the volunteers either head to Nicaragua or Panama after.

The surf camp is a wonderful place to start off at if you are a beginner traveler. Since it's camp structure organizes your day with group activities, your always surrounded by other travelers which really sets you up for success for bonding experiences. The dorms/ bathrooms/ lounge area are all very close together and outdoorsy so you won't ever feel isolated even if you are sitting by yourself. It is very nature immersive so just be prepared to leave your skin care routine behind and live a little more freely. The food is also so amazing!

You should be very open minded when you come here. the accommodation/sleeping place is not luxurious or something, but fulfills its purpose. pack a sleep mask & earplugs so you can relax between the party nights :D and don't forget your bug spray, there are plenty of those! cool excursions, delicious food. keep in mind that you have to socialize a lot, because of the amount of people. so join the yoga classes (almost every morning) or take a walk on the beach to recharge your batteries. great staff who make sure there is always something going on. shoutouts to ollie!

Fuimos con mi pareja al surf camp a realizar nuestro primer voluntariado. Nos ofrecieron una habitación compartida. La tarea que nos toco realizar era ayudar a hacer la cena. Queremos destacar al chef, Tomi, que nos hizo sentir como en casa y nos enseñó sobre cocina. El camp es muy lindo, lleno de fiesta y buena onda. Hicimos amigos de otra parte del mundo. También queremos destacar a Greddy, quien maneja el bus que te lleva y trae de la playa a diario. Super buena onda desde el primer momento, nos hicimos un gran amigo. Gracias por esta oportunidad! Recomendamos esta experiencia.

Mi experiencia en the surf camp fue muy buena. Si bien al principio fue medio chocante por la diferencia de edad y no ser de habla nativa inglesa, después uno se va adaptando al campamento y hace amigos y conoce personas aun mejor de lo que imaginas. Tengo unos recuerdos y anécdotas increíbles. Necesito destacar al Tomi de argentina que cocino como los dioses y siempre buscando mejorar y resaltar sus comidas. También a Pika que me sacaba una sonrisa todos los días. Fue muy grata las últimas semanas. El campamento en sí siempre mantuvo lo acordado tanto espacios como tareas.
