The hostel has been one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. The other volunteers and staff were lovely and made me feel at home right away! You work part of the day, so you still have plenty of time to explore incredible Aarhus! The location is right in the middle of everything, so it's easy to explore with friends in free time. The volunteer coordinator works to put you in your task of preference to the best of her ability which is greatly appreciated and shows the hostel's mission to create a wonderful environment for everyone. Made some life-long friends here and will be returning!

The first week of staying at the hostel, we could stay in a private room which was amazing especially compared to the last place we stayed at. The work hours are fair and adjustable to your preferences if you notify on time. At the start of the week, the volunteers hand in a list containing what kind of food you want, so make sure you agree and communicate upon what you want. I have had an incredible time here by meeting many people, who are super friendly and nice. I highly recommend the hostel if you want to have a good time in a clean and comfortable space with lots of different people!

I stayed there for two months and I would have stayed more! The manager and receptionists are strict but super nice and understanding, they value the good work but also enjoy chatting randomly in a daily basis so they always felt accessible and part of the team. The volunteers that I shared with were also an awesome group and the sense of community was always present in the hostel, eating together, playing cards, going on "adventures" around Aarhus, etc. Thanks to all, I will always cherish you in my memory (and hopefully I'll be back some day to visit) 😄❤️

I stayed in the hostel for 3 months. In that period of time some changes were made and I must say the initial conditions were better. However, I would recommend it. Even though you share the room with the rest of the volunteers, I think it's a cozy place. The shifts are not (usually) very hard but we were in charge of the vast majority of the cleaning. The best part was, definitively, the location of the hostel (just in the hostel center) and meeting such amazing people! Also, talking to the receptionists was so nice ;)

It was a good experience, the terms and conditions you agreed were respected . The location is great, if you want to, you can da lot of thinks here- work was housekeeping so not exciting but good to do. the other volunteers were great. One thing: I think the evening shift is getting sometimes to much extra work.

The experience at the hostel was fine until they changed the management of the volunteers. The work is hard but the volunteer team is very friendly and willing to help. It was not a volunteer experience, the hostel is looking for people to work in exchange for bed and food, there is no space for socializing and the hotel management even demands that we do not have breakfast together with the guests so as not to get in the way. I left before the agreed period because during my stay some rules changed and despite trying to have a dialogue, it was not well accepted. I do not recommend!

The hostel was a great experience for meeting new friends internationally! However, I would say that most of your welcome & 99% of training is done by the other volunteers. All volunteers were super friendly and grateful to have made so many new friends! But I wish that the Hostel staff and owners were more welcoming and involved with the volunteers. I was also not expecting for almost the entire hostel to be run by volunteers (except for reception) so it was a lot of responsibility. If you are alright with working quite hard to meet international friends I would recommend!

Aarhus is abeautiful the hostel that gives you all the great opportunities. I met some amazing people and loved that the hostel was right in the middle of everything. The staff was super friendly and always open for a chat :) Nevertheless there are some points to be improved: -The volunteers are in charge of nearly all the cleaning without being suffiently trained -We were not allowed to sit inside the room where breakfast was served -Only lunch is served. The volunteers were in charge of the dinner -I, personally, would have appreciated more recognition of our work by the top manager!

Great experience overall. the hostel is very charming, and other international volunteers will welcome you creating a very friendly ambiance. Just about the work: you will only be doing housekeeping and cleaning (bartending and cooking aren't a position for volunteers) Another thing to be aware of: there are mostly no paid workers, so volunteers are in absolute responsibility for the cleaning and housekeeping.
