The Experience

We mainly need volunteers welcoming and receiving travelers from all over the world: looking after their needs, checking in, serving drinks at the bar, making them a pizza in the wood fire oven, joining them on hikes, or just showing them around! Enjoy your free time chilling around a bonfire, going for a surf, a hike, a swim at waterfalls, you name it! We offer many outdoor activities as well as nice locals. And who can say no to this view??

What can I say.. I couldn't be happier that I decided to stay in the hostel for 3 months . Everyone there is open, friendly und funny and quickly made me feel at home. The work hours were fun , I was making jokes with the staff in the morning or laughed even more with the other volunteers behind the bar in the evening . the hostel is a special place and from now on my favorite part about South Africa . Thank you for everything, can't we to see all you again in a few months 🫶🏼

My stay at the hostel has been absolutely amazing! Lieze and most of the staff made sure I felt comfortable and at home from the start. the hostel is a very special place and has the absolute best to offer!! We also had enough free time to explore the beautiful area. I'm so happy that I'm able to say that I made friends for life with locals and travelers because of my volunteering at the hostel! Whenever I didn't feel quite comfortable I could always talk to Lieze and she made sure to help and support wherever she could! I would definitely recommend this place!!! Thank you for everything! ❤️

I spent 9 incredible weeks volunteering at the hostel. The location is stunning, with so many great activities around — from nature walks to beach adventures. The schedule was ideal, giving me time to explore and enjoy the area. I met amazing people, both locals and travelers, and felt part of a wonderful community. It was hard to leave, and I'm already looking forward to coming back!

My stay at the hostel was amazing. The staff was kind and welcoming from the first moment so I felt at home after the first day. I met the most amazing people - staff and guests - and we had enough free days to really explore the area. Unfortunately I have to agree with the other reviews on here: some of the male staff were a little too welcoming wich made me feel uncomfortable a few times. But after we told Lieze it got better. I spend some of the best weeks in my life at the hostel so thank you Lieze for creating a second home for so many young people, I will never forget this time!

The hostel, and the hostel in general, is such a wonderful place! I had the best time volunteering there and exploring the surroundings! Keep in mind that you'll be working a lot during the week (30hrs), but the tasks are quite simple, especially during off-season. I met so many lovely people (staff, locals, guests, volunteers) and felt at home from the moment I arrived. It was my 1st time volunteering so I had no expectations, and I'm not disappointed at all! Thank you, Lieze, for being the person you are & for all the work you do to make this place a little piece of heaven on earth!
