The Experience

It was okay. The volunteers room has a ridiculously small window so ventilation is not great and can get muggy inside especially with the hot weather. The work is pretty easy and you have a set amount of tasks. The provided breakfast was a let down and is very small. The guests get like 8 things from the breakfast cabinet (fruit, cheese, eggs, meat, oatmeal, yoghurt, bread, sweet bread, etc) while volunteers only get two. There is a mini market, metro, & park that are very close. The park did have multiple demonstrations at night that included things getting set on fire/throwing of glass.

This was my first volunteer experience and it could not have been more enjoyable. During the month I spent in Santiago, the hostel became my home and the staff became my family. Everybody was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. This experience is perfect for anybody who is looking to improve their Spanish. I spent a lot of time practicing with staff and guests from all over the continent. To the team - gracias por todo - and I know where I'll be staying when I decide to return to Santiago!

Loreen is an amazing person, always attentive and kind. The hostel staff is also very friendly and helps us whenever needed. The work is super easygoing and the schedules are respected. the hostel is one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in. The terrace is spacious and helps connect with other travelers, and there's a coworking space for digital nomads. The hostel's location is wonderful as it's situated in the city center. I hope to come back soon 😁

I had a great time at the hostel. Loreen is very welcoming and friendly. We agreed the scheduled days and days off. The hours are reasonable, so I had plenty of time to explore Santiago. The hostel is very clean, which made the work more pleasant. I enjoyed working with reception and meeting the other volunteers! Overall I had a 10/10 time, thank you for having me ♥️
