The hostel was a huge surprise for me! The hostel is well located, the shifts are fairly distributed and completely flexible. You work in cleaning, housekeeping, reception or social media(if you like). The manager is open to new suggestions that can benefit the hostel and the volunteers. You get 3 to 4 days off. The hostel owners are a bit demanding.I had incredible moments that I will never forget! I made unexpected friendships that I can call family—people I will carry with me forever. The connection and cultural exchange are a unique experience. Thank you for everything, CB team!

I loved my time apart of the hostel Team and Family! From day one I knew what to expect as well as what was expected from me. Harry the manager was excellent with his communication from the very beginning. The team was always warm and welcoming, it was a great place to find some great connections. Thank you to the CB team!

I had an amazing time at the hostel! From day one Harry made me feel welcome and part of the team. The hostel soon became my home and the volunteers became friends and family. One of the things I would like to highlight is the flexibility with the schedules since it allowed me to do other activities and enjoy my time in Oxford to the fullest. During the 6 months I volunteered at CB I had the pleasure to work with kind, caring and very committed people. No doubt, CB is the place to volunteer!

The hostel is very well located, in the center and close to the train and bus stations, which is great if you plan to travel around! I was lucky to volunteer with many nice people, which makes the environment feel more like home. The shift schedules are flexible, and Harry, the manager, is very open to discussing anything that isn't working or could be improved. Summer can be a bit busier than the fall and winter but it's a beautiful city in any weather. I was also able to connect and learn a lot about the local culture!!

My experience at the hostel was amazing. The hostel is very well located, and the work is quite good, considering you can get at least four consecutive days off, which allows you to travel. I had an incredible time with all my coworkers, and the manager, Harry, is a well-rounded person who is always willing to listen and help. It was truly a transformative experience in my life, where I met many great people, got to know a lot about England, and improved my English.

The hostel was a life changing experience. I felt at home as soon as I arrived. Harry is the best/most charming manager I've ever had in my life. The beds were super comfortable, the common spaces are very social and cozy. Its not a party hostel, which I was happy about. The museums, the architecture, the nature, the pubs, lovely. We got to plan so many great activities and make everything really fun and memorable for all the guests. The shifts were a fair trade. The whole team was very hard working. Some days were quite stressful, but we always managed to make everything work out.

I went back to CB for a few months this year (after volunteering for 6 last year) and ended up staying for so long that I'm sure they almost started charging me rent. I truly felt home and the adaptation was easy as can be. Staff members welcomed me well on both times. Location makes it easy to explore, and I met amazing people from all over the world - some of them became good friends and I'm 200% sure they will be with me for my entire life. Just remember to leave before someone says that you became part of the furniture - thanks for that, Harry. 10/10 would overstay again!

I could not recommend volunteering at CBO more. I cannot put into words how much I learned from this place and the people I met here. Harry is both a brilliant manager and a dependable friend to everyone, I felt comfortable coming to him with anything. The hostel is welcoming, in a gorgeous location only 50 minutes from London, and truly felt like a home to me. Like most of the volunteers I met, I extended my stay to 4.5 months. I have nothing but good things to say.

It was one of the best decisions of my life. I immersed myself in volunteering because I wanted to improve my English, both comprehension and speaking, as well as my confidence, in a more dynamic way. However, I ended up gaining much more than that. I made many friends, experienced invaluable moments, and grew a lot as a person. Each person is a lesson, not just in English, but for life—from Harry who is a very good leader, to the more complicated guests. I definitely recommend the hostel for its atmosphere, the city for its charm, and the country for its culture. NOW I LOVE CENTRALBACKPACKERS
