I had a really good time volunteering at the hostel. The hostel is really nice and felt very cosy. Everyone in the team is very welcoming and friendly and I really enjoyed spending my time with them. The working hours are fine and you still get a lot of free time. The hostel is in a great location and the surroundings are beautiful. In the hostel you can go to one of the many cafes or pubs, go for a hike or take the ferry to one of the islands. I would definitely recommend this volunteering opportunity!

My experience has been great, I met incredible people and had a nice time here. The tasks are easy to learn, the work is not too much, so you'll have plenty of time to explore the town and surrounding islands such as Kerrera, Mull, Staffa, etc, or on rainy days go to a coffee shop and read or just chill out. I recommend it to travelers who enjoy nature and small cities.

Incredible experience! The manager Jake makes sure that everything runs smoothly and he is very personable. I had a great time going out with the other volunteers to cafes and bars. There are potluck dinners occasionally with all the volunteers and staff. A backyard garden for staff use. The lounge is very large with much seating, a fire place, and a pool table (free to play for volunteers). The kitchen is fully equipped with whatever you need. The staff room is 3 bunk beds. I recommend the hostel and the hostel if you like a walkable sized tourist town and enjoy cafes and nature.

As soon as I arrived, I was immediately welcomed into the hostel gang. Everybody was incredibly kind and chill, super easy to get along with. The work was easy, about 24 hours, but a lot of it is sitting in the common area doing your own thing until guests come in or need help. Housekeeping is making beds, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, and folding laundry. You're usually done with the cleaning before the actual end of the shift. Surrounding area was gorgeous, highly recommend it for those that like to hike or see the isles. Not much nightlife, but a super sweet town.

This was my first Worldpackers experience and it was better than any expectation I had. The host, Indy, made me feel like family and three weeks really just wasn't enough. Even with the working hours (which are reasonable and advertised properly), I was able to explore the surrounding areas and even further around Scotland. My tasks were housekeeping, morning porter, and night porter. Since the hostel isn't too big, the work was easy and doesn't take up a lot of your day. Volunteers and guests mingle, creating one amazing experience that I'll never forget. 100% recommend! :)
