Help us at a very social and cool hostel in Albania!

The shifts are 7hrs each day that start as early as 7am and end as late as 2pm. Elias, the manager, is one of the kindest, most hospitable people I've ever met. The volunteer room is the hottest room in the house with no air con, but we are allowed to sleep in guest rooms if we wish (and if there is a free bed). The vibe: very chill, social enough, but not the most exciting. Tirana itself is a dull city, so there's not much to entertain yourself. This does let you immerse yourself in the Brylli neighbourhood, though, and get a real feel of Tirana. Thanks so much to Elias! Best of luck! X

My experience in the hostel was good, I was able to share with other volunteers which helped me a lot to practice my English, the schedules are respected, as well as the rest time. In my free time I was able to visit other nearby cities and enjoy the country much more.

The environment of the hostel is nice and the people as well. The staff room is big and good equipped. The best part of the hostel is the rooftop where you can chill enjoying the view. The terrace is the only place apart from the kitchen where you can socialize. Claas the manager is always helping you if you have any problems or some doubts. The food is not enough for deal provided on WP. The good part is if you ask to Class some specific food he is going to buy it but he should improve this aspect. The work wasn't hard and the hours were respected. Overall it was a nice experience.

The hostel is calm and very cool. Tirana is a lovely place to live.😄 The work is not difficult. Don't hesitate to communicate with Claas and the others volunteers to be sure you have the new information each day during your shift. I thanks to Claas for this opportunity

The hostel is very nice and small, you can meet people from all over the world. The volunteers are very friendly. The tasks are simple like cleaning and reception and the schedules are very flexible.

It was only when I arrived at the hostel that I learnt that I would be helping with the refurbishment of the hostel (on the platform it said reception, cleaning). at the beginning he asked me to help with the refurbishment for 5 days and then do the combined work on the platform. all 13 days that I stayed there I only worked on the refurbishment. so I asked for Worldpackers insurance and left volunteering. - The food offered wasn't enough (there was no breakfast or dinner, he bought some supplies). - I was treated like a normal employee, as if I had been paid to do the hard labor.

First of all we didn't force anyone into hard labor! As we are out of season and there where no guests or not many we started to do some wood works and refurbishments on our roof terrace. We asked if Juan wants to help. I made clear that he can also stay at the reception. He agreed to help and I gave him some sweatpants and a pair of trainers (have fun with my Adidas that you just took even if they are 3 numbers to big for you😅) not that he has to use his own clothes. We talked about everything. One day he mentioned that his back started hurting so we told him to take extra off days till he thinks it's fine again.
We know that the work was not according to what we are usually offer or agree on. It was optional and more an offer to work withe us in the sun on our roof terrace instead of sitting lonely at the reception.
We thought we made all of this very clear.
We from our side are disappointed about the lack of communication from Juan's side. And definitely not happy if volunteers are just gone one morning instead of talking about things that someone is bothered by.
We thought that people who can travel the world are able to express their needs instead of just disappearing...we are definitely listening!
We treat every volunteer with respect and we are always thankful for the help we get but also understand that we probably can't fulfill everyone's needs by 100% as we are all individuals.
We usually have very good relationships with our volunteers and some are becoming friends.
Renovations are done and we thank you Juan anyway for your help. It was actually very nice working with you.👍

Everything was good in the Hostel, with Class and with the other volunteers. We had a situation and we talked immediately with Class, who fixed it and tried his best to make us feel comfortable.

Nice experience! Very comfortable place and close to Skanderbeg square and other places to visit. Class was always attentive to our concerns and also cooks very well!. The Hostel has a spectacular terrace, which surely must be great for the summer!!

My experience in this first volunteering was good, I overcame the fear of speaking in English, since even the guests themselves encourage you to get along, the tasks that are done are generally easy to do, the days off allow you to get to know different areas of the hostel, Class was a good host.
