The Experience

Where do I start from? It was my first time volunteering, and I truly enjoyed my stay here. Ivan and Paola are super nice, they took care of me like I was their younger sister. And Paola's dishes were really delicious. The work wasn't too difficult, and working schedules were flexible. And the dog, Asia is really a gentle one 😍. I also had time to explore the beautiful city of Ourense. A bonus point- I learnt how to ride a bike here. Special thanks to my fellow volunteer- Philippine for teaching me. Thanks once again for the nice times🙂, I definitely recommend volunteering here!

I had the best time at Ivan's and Paula's place. They make you feel at home from the moment you step into their home. The property is located in a remote areas (12Km from the main city), but you have a bus stop close by, as well as a bike to go explore the beautiful surroundings. I enjoyed the work. For me it was general maintenance: weeding, picking up fruits, leaves, making compost... The house is a typical old Spanish house, it's no 5 star hotel but it's cosy, and you have wifi for digital nomads and your private bedroom. Ideal for people who wants to be in the countryside and the nature.

Unbelievable! This was my first volunteering experience and it was amazing! Ivan is so kind and always will help you if anything, Paola's dishes were delicious and Asia is the best dog i even knew! The work was ok, sometimes a bit hard but sometimes easier couldn't be. I spent an incredible month here with another volunteer…. The nature of Galicia will make your soul sing and the most important, that this place makes people closer and happier, that's for sure. And will make you miss time spent here every day..!

Our stay on the farm was overall very pleasant. The working hours were rather short and the dog, Asia was a very sweet one. We had a lot of freedom regarding our free time. However, it was quite cold at night, because we came here in late October. We feel like we should also note that the hygiene conditions in the house could be improved, as there were mice in the kitchen. Nevertheless, Iván was very welcoming towards us.

We appreciate the experience and the time we spent with Ivan's family. We were very welcomed and ate very good food with Paola. Unfortunately we had to leave sooner than expected but Ivan tried to help us the most he could. We are very grateful for the time we spent together.
