My plan was to stay only 3 months in Santiago Guesthouse but at the end I decided to stay for six months! Everyone is super welcoming and you get to know a lot of people from other places. Also the work is super easy, just a few hours a day and you always have the option to change days if you want to da longer trip somewhere else. Santiago really became a family on my time here, and made me enjoy Hiroshima and it's surroundings. Would love to be back some time in the future :)

I originally planned to stay at this guesthouse for around a month but have ended up staying much longer! It's a lovely group of people, we plan things to do together and it just has a lovely atmosphere. The work is easy, It's four days a week and it starts from 11am. It does depend on how many people are working each day and how much needs to get done but the latest I've ever worked until is 2.30. There's also a schedule which is pretty flexible so if things need to change people are very accommodating. I've found a really lovely base and group of people!!

Great guesthouse and a nice group of fellow volunteers. The work is very doable and you have plenty of spare time to go around the city and its surroundings!

My time at Santiago the hostel was great!! All my fellow staff were amazing people and I felt at home right from the beginning. It is a very nice Hostel and there is always something going on in the common area. The tasks were very easy and usually didn't take longer than 2 hours per day, 3 days per week!

It was a nice experience to stay at Santiago the hostel because you have so much time to travel. You have 3 days off a week and can ask for flexible holiday if you want to have some days in a row off. The people there are communicativ and want to hang out, you will meet many other international travelers. However, the beds you sleep in are very dark and you sleep with many other people in a dorm. Be aware that you don't really have privacy. Additionally, the hostel doesn't provide the best and especially not environmentally friendly cleaning equipment, which I find a bit sad.

From the very first day that I walked into the Guesthouse, everyone made me feel right at home! The working hours were very flexible which gave me more than enough time to chill out, explore and enjoy life. The owner of this Guesthouse (Masa) is very a friendly and kind hearted man who cares alot about the welfare of his helpers/staff. By working at this hostel, I was able to make alot of friends from many different backgrounds which was a big highlight! Overall, it was such a pleasure to be able to work at Santiago the hostel, and I would definitely recommend this experience to everyone!!

Although I only stayed here 2 and a half weeks, I felt really welcomed by everyone at Santiago. The work is very easy (I did just 3 hours a week) and in return I got to explore so much of Hiroshima and spend lots of time with both volunteers and guests. I would have loved to have stayed longer, and would highly recommend this experience overall :)

I had a fantastic time at Santiago Hiroshima. Everyone was so welcoming and it felt like home from day one. I was able to meet and chat with many locals and travellers during my stay. It was a great experience to explore and live in such a historic city. Im happy for every interaction i had and what I've learnt about hospitality will be a great asset. Thank you everyone!
