I truly felt at home at the lodge. The staff and the other volunteers were all a joy to work with and the surrounding nature is incredible. I loved spending hours at the river and falling asleep/waking up to the sounds of the jungle. The hours can seem long at first but I honestly didn't mind it, you will still have plenty of free time to relax and explore. It's easy to get into the rhythm and I always had fun while working, chatting to the team and the guests. Semuc Champey and beautiful viewpoints are all in walkable distance.

I really enjoyed volunteering here! The team and the other volunteers were amazing and I already miss them. The nearby river and the nature surrounding this remote place is stunning. The work was very enjoyable as well, the tasks were comprehensible and easy but still fun and the guests and staff were really nice to work with. The hours of work sound a lot at first but I thought it was a good balance of work and free time.

I've had an incredible stay at the lodge! The property is beautiful and the people are amazing! But it is located in the middle of nowhere - so if you aren't into that, this place isn't for you. But if you are willing to leave behind the city-life, the lodge will be your new dream-home. The work is super easy, though a bit more hours than the usual volunteer jobs, not that it mattered anything to me. Hope to come back there next year for a longer period of time!

I loved it. the lodge is this weird and wonderful place where everyone is doing their thing and no one is judging. The place is quite isolated so the volunteers, managers and owners all become a family. Great food, super close to the river to go swim etc etc Things to be aware of before applying: We do work a lot of hours (more than the ad suggests). The work itself is not hard, but if you are working remote or studying at the same time it might be stressful. We also don't have more than one full day of in a row, so if you're planning to see Guatemala, give yourself enough time after leaving:)

Leaving the lodge after nearly 8 weeks is a very sad day. I had an amazing time volunteering in the most beautiful setting with some incredible people. You get a good deal as a volunteer, with free food and accommodation. the lodge is like a family and a great place to meet people from all over the world, as well as locals. Pia, Raquel and Pascal (owner/manager/assistant manager) are so lovely to work with and make a great work environment. You have to be willing to work hard here but if you're motivated and positive you'll have the time of your life. The surrounding nature is also unbelievable!

We were too late to write a review, sorry Connie!
Connie was a wonderful volunteer, working with her was a lot of fun, she provided super service to our guests and helped us with everything needed in the best way possible. We would highly recommend and are waiting for her to come back,
Peace and love Connie!

I had food poisoning (2 days of vomiting, chills, diarrea and nauseas). I had to leave after 2 weeks due to stomach issues. I was not the only one among the volunteers (3 more had had stomach issues). For me this is so important and has to be seen in the comments. (NOTE: not all the volunteers had stomach issues). The job is interesting, I was teaching yoga, doing cacao tours (thanks Jenny and Danai for being great teachers) and making desserts. I appreciate the time I spent there and the people I met. Thanks Raq and Edwin for being supportive and always willing to help. Thanks!

The nature is really magnetic and the jungle is mesmerizing. The working hours are indeed a lot, but people there (volunteers and workers) made the whole experience brighter and the group chemistry was great. If you have any problems, always communicate them and solutions can be found:)

A wonderful place to connect with nature, and if you do your own research and ask enough questions, you will have wonderful opportunities to explore the land and local culture. The guests were very happy with my classes, chocolate walks, desserts & I loved making them as well as venturing out to meet locals the food was amazing too! I didn't feel much empathy or support from the host in this job, I was on my own and I would recommend the host to be more approachable and willing. Apart from that all was great! Different times different personalities make your own experience!

My experience at the lodge was great. I really connected with that place. Its in the middle of the Jungle right next to the river and i loved being in nature & going for a swim or a walk or just chill in a hamoc. I made really really good friends there, i spend christmas & new years eve there and the people just felt like family to me! I was working for 8 hours a day it seems long compared to other places but it goes by so quickly i loved the experience in the kitchen & the bar, mixing drinks and getting to know guests from all around the world :) I will never forget my time there ! 💛
