I volunteered at the hostel for one month and I had a great experience! Work is four hours a day, six days a week which gives you enough time to explore amazing Bangkok. The hostel is really cozy and the hosts and workers are really nice and welcoming and I had a really good time with them and the other volunteers. The hostel is just a five minute walk from the metro which is really nice and convenient and there is plenty of food around the hostel to enjoy. Also there is a nice park and free outdoor gym just a three minute walk away which is also really nice. Definitely recommend!

Amazing experience in Bangkok! Effie, her family and all the staff are super nice. We had great comunication, clear instructions on how to do the work and working hours were respected. They provide good breakfast for the volunteers. Besides, the Hostel is very good, they have confortable beds and great shared showers. I definitely recommend this position!

Thank you Effie for a great experience at the hostel. It was my first Worldpackers volunteering trip and I loved that! You work only 4 hours a day and still have a lot of time to explore Bangkok. You meet a lot of travelers from other countries, communicate and practice English. Work is not hard but requires responsibility. Effie was always nice to me, she can even bring you some snacks and take care of you! All the best wishes to the hostel “the hostel”, Effie and her family!!!

Effie and her family and staff were always kind and sweet to me! I felt like home. The experience was great and I could learn with the tasks. The job is easy to adapt and pretty chill sometimes. Little Allan (her sun) is a bonus, the sweetest kid ever. I will miss you guys! Thank you for everything ❤️

It's really good hours and really good location if you want to try local cuisines when your not working. I will say that the manager was rude to both the workers and to guests of the hostel which made the work environment kind of toxic. If I had any questions I felt more comfortable asking other volunteers as opposed to the permanent staff as they would roll eyes and were not patient. But other then that I would recommend this place to volunteers as the hours of work was worth the chance to experience Bangkok. Thank you for the opportunity.

We really enjoyed our stay in the hostel. We were treated with warmth and respect. The job was easy and quite flexible. We got a chance to get to know the culture and meet many locals. I would recommend staying and working in the hostel.

My experience was good, the functions are simple, the organization of our shifts by Book ( the supervisor) is good and fair, it's even flexible in case you need to make any changes. The hostel is nice, quiet, very clean and well located. Thank you Book for all! The only drawback, wish was very stressful for me during my volunteering was the terrible behavior of the woman who works in the kitchen, Pitan, who always maintained a harassing, discriminatory and toxic treatment towards several of the volunteers including me and who prevented that the experience was completely positive & pleasant.

My experience at the hostel was good, the established schedules and the tasks previously described are met, if you have experience in reception the work will be easy to do and if not, learning will not be a problem either. The place to sleep and the hostel in general is comfortable, clean and well located. I don't give 5 stars because I think that the cook's treatment of the volunteers needs to change, sometimes she makes the atmosphere a little hostile and tense when we work, but it's something that if they talk to her about it there may be a solution. Thanks to Book for experience!😊

I wish my review was as good as the others. however, the days after arriving, i didn't feel welcomed at all. even though effie was nice, the staff made me want to cry several times. the manager was really short-tempered and got mad if i didn't get something at the first time. overall they were really impolite. the worst part was hearing them speak in thai while laughing and using our names mid-conversation shamelessly, which made me feel horrible. i don't want to sound ungrateful with this review, i'm just showing my experience there. (btw, we're not paid workers, just volunteers.)

Hi Lucia. I'm (book). I'm so sorry about the short-tempered or mad at you. And so sorry if you misunderstand when we talk about with your name. We feel you are good volunteer and very helpful here. You are the clever girl and easy to understand for the job here. That's one we said about you. Hopefully, you will be clear. :) //Book, P'Tan and Ae.
