I had a great experience volunteering at Bangkok Bed and Bike. I stayed for a month helping out at the reception, and from the very beginning, I felt welcomed and appreciated. The people who work there are incredibly kind and friendly — they always made me feel at home.

The work schedule was clear and well-organized, and everything ran smoothly during my time there. Even though I only saw Effie a couple of times, it was clear that she genuinely cares about the volunteers and makes an effort to ensure everything goes well for them.

Overall, I’m really grateful for the time I spent there.

Bed and Bike was my first volunteer experience and it was a great one :)
Effie and the staff are super friendly and welcoming. It’s not a party hostel, so if you’re looking for that vibe, keep it in mind, but it’s a chill, cozy place with a good atmosphere.
I’d definitely recommend it for other volunteers, and I’d be happy to volunteer there again :)

My volunteer experience here was a mix of good and bad. The host is sweet but not present as she manages a nearby bar. The location is great and the stay comfortable. Bicycles are available but old and damaged — if anything breaks, the staff may react aggressively. Work hours were fair, and meals included 3 slices of bread and 2 eggs daily, which you cook yourself. The staff atmosphere was unfriendly, and communication was difficult since only the manager speaks some English. I also received rude remarks from the manager.
Strict house rules and limited kitchen access made it not enjoyable.
