My experience at the hostel was incredible, I met so many people from all over the world, if you want to improve your English skills, this is the right place to do the volunteer, in General the hostel has a nice environment, the tasks are not hard, the only thing is about the cleaning shift that you have to do during the morning, because it doesn't say in the description but you have do all the beds after the check outs, and sometimes it could be exhausting… there was an issue with the door because we did not have a lock but finally a couple of days before i left they just fixed it.

My experience at the hostel was mostly a positive one. The hostel is in the city so very easy to get around and close to the nightlife. You work with around 5 other volunteers which was so much fun and it's a pretty social hostel so great to make new friends. However 90% of the staff is volunteers and a lot of things I was taught was from past volunteers which can sometimes not be exactly what is expected of you. We had a few incidents within the hostel that the host took too long to address, which ended up being pretty shitty for volunteers and guests to deal with. But overall I enjoyed my time.

On beginning she was ok, polite and hard working, as normal can happened in an hostel, we had a problem with bed bugs in some rooms, she thinked to know more than me (12 years of experience in hostel managing) and because we cant solve the problem in 24h (we booked the disinfection company and in 1 week the problem was fixed) she sent a message to all the volunteers that should to arrive in the next weeks telling that hostel was infested and the owner didnt care about, this making a violation on privacy law entering in the personal account of worldpackers and coping the volunteers numbers. During my 12 years of hostel managing i never saw something like this, a mix of stupidity and presumption and not honest behavior from a young volunteer that can be my daughter, i was really sad and surprised also because many of the volunteers should to come call me asking about her strange message and 2 of them cancelled their stay. I cant reccomend georgia, she was the worst volunteer i had in 12 years.

The host lived in another country for half of our volunteering but was quick to communicate online. However we were taught our roles from the previous volunteers, (there was 1 paid staff, the beautiful hashan) so it was mainly run by 6 volunteers. It creates a little family as all volunteers are run monthly, and I had an amazing group to live with. However it created miscommunication about roles and put a lot of responsibility on the volunteers. Bed bug infestation for the last 2 weeks, and our boss paid for cream/washing but only bug-sprayed, later bombed but left with bed bugs in everything

all nights party and back drunk, during the morning shift was not punctual and dont care about responsabilities to stay at reception, we have 3 person of staff with salary and after your poor work i decided to employ another 2 persons because cleanings was ridicolous from you and your friend georgia, stay home.

I were supposed to stay for two months but because of the uncomfortable feeling I got with sleeping in a room without a lock in the middle of the common area I left early, the owner was working from Germany through the cameras in the hostel but was handling my request of leaving really good. It's located in the middle of the centre so you have a great opportunity to explore Sicily and learn about the Italian culture.

10/10 experience. Although this hostel is more for volunteering during high season (around summer or end of October) I still had so much fun. The hours worked were flexible and you always had time to go and explore the island. Ellom is a great manager and will always help you. Everyone is very social and there's always something going now. Overall I would recommend this to anyone that is ready to always be socialising and that has good customer service skills for the guests.

This was my first volunteering with Worldpackers and the time I spent in the hostel was amazing. The manager is an extremely kind person doing her best that you feel welcome and it was very easy to get along with everyone. It is not difficult to follow the tasks and if you had a question, you could always ask the manager.

The hostel is one of the best places I've been travelling. All the staff and travellers are super friendly and accommodating I rly felt welcome working and staying there. The accommodation is good and we would always cook for each other. The work is straight forward and fun too as there's always people to talk to and ask for help. Overall 10/10 recommend this place to anyone !

The owner is never there, but there is a manager who takes over. The hostel isn't the best so usually guests complain. Have in mind that you will be sharing a room with the other volunteers, which are usually 5 and the room is very small and doesn't have much light. Also the hostel doesn't have a place where so sit and relax so it's hard to have privacy and quiet time. The work is not hard at all and everyone is very nice, they are flexible with the tasks and hours and it is very well located. You usually cook for yourself but the manager gets the ingredients at the supermarket for you.

The hostel was my first volunteer experience and I could not recommend it more. I fell in love with the city and everyone in it. The staff felt like my family and Ellom, the manager, made me feel so incredibly welcome. There were occasional issues with the building. The hot water was off for some time but it was eventually fixed and shouldn't be a problem in the future. I am so grateful to have had this unforgettable experience. Thank you Palermo and thank you the hostel☺️🥰
