This hostel, whilst it might not have been the most clean or organised hostel I've been too, the place had such a warm and cosy feeling. Because there isn't much around, I really had the opportunity to engage with all the international guests and make real connections. As well as with the other volunteers. Also, the hostels location is fantastic if you love nature and tranquility. The only thing to be mindful is that during busy periods, volunteers were expected to sleep in a makeshift garage. So just make sure to pack warmly if you decide to come in the colder months.

The hostel McCools was a nice place to get away from the big cities and immerse myself in the beautiful the hostel coastline for 2 weeks. I enjoyed learning the ropes of how to work in a hostel and the tasks were not too difficult. It is quite an isolated location, the closest grocery store is a 35 minutes walk away just to give you an idea. So be prepared for that! I only met the hosts a few times briefly, they seem like nice people but I would've liked to get to know them better! I think it would have created a more cohesive volunteering experience.

I have really enjoyed my time here in the hostel. I worked at Bushmills exclusively and not the hostel's but I ended up liking it even better. It's slow season, so there's not much going on right now! But I've found ways to enjoy my time here - exploring nature and the local sights. Hours are flexible and the hosts give you plenty of time to explore in your free time. Jacey and Andre have been very kind and welcoming! A great, first Worldpackers experience!

I had a great time at the hostel! Jacey and Andre are super nice, the work is easy and you also have a lot of time off to experience the area around, which is great because there are so many things to see. Also the hostel itself is super cozy! I met great people and wouldn't wanna miss this time! Thank you!

The hostel has been one of the best experiences in my life definitely! It was my first volunteer and I would do it again without thinking! I really met a lot of amazing volunteers and memories that I will carry with me forever! Andre and Jacey are excellent hosts, they will help you with everything you need in addition to making you feel comfortable and welcome at all times. The tasks are easy to make and really well organized and flexible. Perfect to improve your English skills, learn about hostels, connect with yourself and see stunning spots.

One of the best places in Northern Ireland to volunteer. Starting with the location, close to some of the main tourist attractions in the country and surrounded by many amazing places in the nature. The work is very easy and there is plenty of time to explore the region. Jacey and Andre are great, super attentive and concerned that we enjoy much more than working. The staff it is wonderful and the contact with other volunteers and with the hostel guests allows for a great cultural and language exchange. I hig arehly recommend volunteering here.

Not only are Andrew and Jacey extremely kind people who always offer to help you when you don't know something but they also really care about your shedule. They make sure you have lots of free time to explore the stunning nature, which is simply beyond description. If you are into nature, the ocean, tranquille seaside towns, breathtaking walks along the cliffs and photography this is the place for you! You'll even make some amazing friends as they take up multiple volunteers at once.
