I had an amazing time at the hostel McCools and would definitely recommend it for anyone wanting a quiet, relaxing and very cosy environment. The location is perfect, with really nice coastal walks and it's relatively easy to get around by bus. Andre and Jacey were great hosts, very welcoming and accommodating with anything you need!

I had an amazing time in the hostel! Andre and Jacey are amazing hosts who welcome me straight away. It is a perfect location with easy access bus routes around the coast of Northern Ireland for mini adventures. I had a great time and would love to come back!

I was very happy to volunteer at the hostel McCool. We had the unforeseen that I was alone in the first week, but that was not a problem for me, on the contrary, because I always had the support of Andre and Jaceyln at any time. They are very helpful and attentive, I felt very good all the time. I practised English all the time, the activities are common in the hostels and the breakfast was varied. I got to know the surroundings of the hostel and I confess that it was one of the most beautiful views I have ever seen in my life. Gratitude for the experience and I hope to come back soon ❤️

It was a wonderful experience, thank you so much Andre & Jacey for the opportunity ! i have stayed at the hostel McCools & YHA and really liked both. the two are a little bit different but still feel like you're at home and the accommodations are great i totally recommend this volunteering, especially if you want to practice your English and gain confidence, want to be close to nature and explore the area !! the work is very easy, accessible and Andre and Jacey are very responsive if you have any question. thank you to the other volunteers (especially for the birthday), i would gladly come back :)

The place was in good condition and the volunteers nice people the house is very close to the giant of the hostel; A fat, hairy girl from the United States had arrived at the hotel, paying only for one night and said that I had looked for her in her room and she didn't know how to thank me when I asked her if the heater was working, so the owner, since he is a peasant, threw me out, if you understand what I mean. ? You have to sit and watch the donkeys in the middle of nowhere and in the cold because the volunteers were lesbians.

This just shows the person that Kurt is, sadly enough we had to remove him from the building as he has no manners, is a very indecent person, takes food from guests without asking them and a bully to others. The worst bit, he does not seem to see this himself that the way he treats other people and especially woman is extremely in appropiate.

This hostel, whilst it might not have been the most clean or organised hostel I've been too, the place had such a warm and cosy feeling. Because there isn't much around, I really had the opportunity to engage with all the international guests and make real connections. As well as with the other volunteers. Also, the hostels location is fantastic if you love nature and tranquility. The only thing to be mindful is that during busy periods, volunteers were expected to sleep in a makeshift garage. So just make sure to pack warmly if you decide to come in the colder months.

The hostel McCools was a nice place to get away from the big cities and immerse myself in the beautiful the hostel coastline for 2 weeks. I enjoyed learning the ropes of how to work in a hostel and the tasks were not too difficult. It is quite an isolated location, the closest grocery store is a 35 minutes walk away just to give you an idea. So be prepared for that! I only met the hosts a few times briefly, they seem like nice people but I would've liked to get to know them better! I think it would have created a more cohesive volunteering experience.

I have really enjoyed my time here in the hostel. I worked at Bushmills exclusively and not the hostel's but I ended up liking it even better. It's slow season, so there's not much going on right now! But I've found ways to enjoy my time here - exploring nature and the local sights. Hours are flexible and the hosts give you plenty of time to explore in your free time. Jacey and Andre have been very kind and welcoming! A great, first Worldpackers experience!

I had a great time at the hostel! Jacey and Andre are super nice, the work is easy and you also have a lot of time off to experience the area around, which is great because there are so many things to see. Also the hostel itself is super cozy! I met great people and wouldn't wanna miss this time! Thank you!
