Volunteer at our hostel in just 300 meters from the Giants Causeway

I had a nice time in my two weeks here. I chose a very slow time of year--there were barely any guests, but I wasn't the most surprised for it being early December. This made it a bit of a boring stay at times, but it also allowed me a lot of time to explore the surrounding areas. The work was super easy and the other volunteers were nice! I would recommend this experience to anyone who wants to spend some time in nature and away from the city, just be prepared for the weather :)

A lowly small hostel! I honestly loved most of my experience at the hostel Mccools! The work tends to be quite simple (basic cleaning and reception). You do sleep in the garage though (at least we still did mid-September), which means that the air is bad and it can be freezing (we had to heaters on full power the entire time). There is a dorm room for the volunteers though, but it's only used in the winter

As soon as I arrived there was a volunteer, but then she left and it was me and another French boy, he had strange attitudes from the first day and the end was when I was talking to my parents on the phone and he was just in his underwear in the room if “ showing off” in the mirror, he went to the bathroom in his underwear with the guests at the hostel, possibly wanting to get my attention. The next day he told the host that he was leaving as I feared my safety as a woman. Well, so far he hasn't responded to me, not even with an apology.

Jacey and Andre are amazing. They were super communicative and were super helpful when any of the other volunteers or I had a problem. The hostel itself was nice, the cleaning duties were easy, and the environment was overall pretty good. the hostel is absolutely amazing and the area surrounding the hostel is worth exploring every inch.

I'm so glad I took on this experience. The Giant's the hostel is a beautiful spot and the hosts of the hostel Mcools hostel are very friendly and approachable. During my time there I met like minded travellers from all over the world that I now keep in contact with! It was a beautiful place to re-connect with nature, I would often go on runs or hikes during my breaks or on my days off. Overall great experience!

The best experience I could have in Northern Ireland! The hostel is very close to the Giant's the hostel and has a bus stop next door, for easy access to Bushmills and other towns. The tasks at the hostel are very easy to carry out, which allows you to have a lot of free time. Andre and Jacey are always available on the staff's WhatsApp group to answer any questions and resolve any requests. Thanks for the opportunity!

I enjoyed my time at the hostel. Everyone was kind and friendly and you can truly make friends. Andrea and Jacey are responsive, and the work is easy so you could have a lot of time to explore around. It's a nice place to get away from the city and truly enjoy nature. The only thing is that it gets dark very early at night in North Ireland in winter so I cannot go out, but it's nice to talk to guests from all around the world in the hostel.

My stay at the hostel McCools was incredible amazing, besides enjoying and connecting with the nature, the place has magical views, talking to the guests and know about their stories was something that I also enjoyed a lot and most important is the people I met that after 3 weeks I consider them now as family. I truly hope to come back to this place in some years, after all is the place where I built plenty of memories that now I keep in my heart forever. Jacey & Andre are wonderful hosts, they always helped us, cared and managed it for us the volunteers to have a great time together.

I had the best experience at Finns. I wish I could've stayed longer. I feel like there was still so much for me to explore. The work is super easy & the hosts are very responsive and take care of everything in a rapid manner. They are there if you need anything :) The other volunteers are what made this experience the best, we were a little family and I am walking away with forever friends. The hostel is a quick bus ride or little walk to the next town but I felt like everything was well connected and I was able to make the most of my time there. I even got to go to Scotland! 10/10 recommend!

I was placed in their other hostel, YHA, so it was a little bit lonely at times. However, Andre and Jacey are wonderful to work with and are super understanding about schedules/mistakes/etc. I loved the Bushmills area and there was a lot of nice scenery only a short walk or short bus ride away. The work was not difficult at all and I had a very nice dorm to myself. I would definitely recommend applying here. As I said, the only downside was that I was alone a lot because of being placed at YHA. I met some worldpackers at Finns and they did not have that issue.
