Volunteer at our hostel in just 300 meters from the Giants Causeway

The location is right next to the Giant's the hostel and a little beach that is absolutely lovely. However, public transportation is expensive, and it's about a 45-minute walk to the nearest town, so the location is a bit isolated. The hours and tasks were very easy, and you get lots of days off to explore. The only downsides were that the volunteers stayed outside in a shed that had lots of spiders and very bad mattresses. Additionally, while working, I often felt micro-managed and mildly uncomfortable.

The hostel Mcool's was a very positive experience. The location is incredibly close to the hostel and some really beautiful cliff walks, however not too accessible to town/shops (a 50min walk, or fast bus but they finish quite early in the evening). The hostel itself is a bit older but has all the simple facilities you need. Accomodation during the summer is outside the house. The work was light as it is quieter up there and you have a lot of time to relax and explore. Andre, the owner, is not around too often but is incredibly nice and jumps to fix any issues that might arise at the hostel.

My stay was sensational, all the staff at the hostel are incredible people, during my stay I was able to practise English and enjoy nature. The location of this hostel is privileged and I am very grateful for having chosen this hostel. I had great experiences and a lot of personal reflection, because the connection you have with nature is unexplainable, you just have to feel it and live it. I thank you and I will definitely come back in the future.

I had a great time at the hostel! The hosts are very welcoming, the place is near to nature and really calm. The duties are easy, only cleaning and reception. In the low season we can stay in the room inside the hostel which is very comfortable, if you go at the high season you will stay at the garage, doesn't have bathrooms there and the wifi doesn't work well! The host give to the volunteers £10 per week to buy anything you want what is great! Is a remote place, the bus to the city takes 5/10 min but the last one is before 6pm, the same journey on foot takes 1 hour. I really recommend!

I had such a great time at the hostel Mccools. The hostel is basic, but the amazing location makes up for it. It's so close to some of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. I met such nice people here, from all round the world, and the atmosphere was lovely and friendly. The work was soooo easy and you get loads of time off to explore. Also, Andre is super nice! Thank you :)

This is my second time there! The first time for a long period and this time it was much shorter and both times was amazing! Jacey and Andre are really nice, the tasks are not many, (reception and cleaning) you will have time to go out and explore and if you like walking and nature it is really an amazing place!! I recommend it 100%!

Incredible experience! It was my first time as a volunteer and I thoroughly recommend this hostel! I loved it because it helped me improve my English, as you meet lots of people at the hostel (both other volunteers and guests). What's more, housework and reception are very easy and we have lots of free time to visit the coast. The area is well served by bus and is full of scenery! And last but not least, the hosts are very kind and attentive.

My experience in the hostel McCools the hostel was very enriching. Andre and Jaceyln have been very generous to me, I felt very welcome. The tasks were easy to do and you also had free time to explore the area. The hostel is located in one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. I recommend this experience to anyone, especially those who enjoy spending time in the countryside.

The hostel is small but nice. The surrounding landscape is amazing, the location is perfect. The tasks to be carried out are simple. I had a great time with the other volunteers. The owners are also very kind and helpful. I absolutely recommend it!
