I spent two weeks at the centre in Hong Ngu and really enjoyed my time there. The host was fantastic, I felt very cared for. We ate three delicious meals every day with snacks, coffee and coconut water available all day. The working hours were manageable with good breaks throughout the day. The students were lovely and I really enjoyed talking to them and learning about their lives and the local area. Strong internet connection meant I was able to stay in touch with family and friends and also complete work while I stayed here. The accommodation was very basic, but something I got used to.

My bf and I stayed at Mr. Ty's center for 2 weeks. We had a room with AC, good food, & flexible working hours. (always fresh bananas to snack on!) We loved talking to the energetic and friendly students for 3-4 hours a day (different students & levels). Mr. Ty took us to eat delicious hotpot and at a local restaurant twice - Yum! My bf played football with him and the locals every day, and we all played tennis together one weekend! The area is safe for foreigners to walk despite the many confused looks, and there is a market 1km away. Mr. Ty is also a fantastic host - Thank you so much!

(Max 600 characters, so I'll keep it short!) This was my first time volunteering, and it's an experience I'll remember! I have lots of good things to say about both Ty and the students! First, Ty is a great guy! The moment I arrived, I was welcomed with a smile and some delicious Vietnamese food - this became a recurring theme during my whole stay. The students are also a cool bunch, and I had lots of fun teaching them. I miss some of them already, so I might have to apply again some time! There was a lot of work, more than expected, but I liked it, and I will remember my days here fondly!

Mr. Ty is a one-man band man! He does absolutely everything and somehow manages to do everything brilliantly. Expect amazing home-cooked, local food, fresh coconut snacks and tiny vietnamese bananas every day! But even more than that, expect to fall in love with the students, their energy and their passion to learn and grow! There are children from 7 years old all the way to working adults and they all come together to learn. There's lots of work because there are many students and not many teachers, but the experience and the exchanges you'll have with everyone are truly rewarding!

This was my first volunteering experience and it has definitely been an amazing experience. The students are wonderful and so enthusiastic, helping them learn English was really fun. The host Ty is a warm and welcoming person, he even cooked some good meals. The food in countryside is limited but tasty :) I would also recommend exploring nearby areas, I enjoyed going to Nui cam.

I had an incredible two weeks at the center! I couldn't be more grateful for my experience. In particular, Mr Ty was an amazing host, he is very kind and always wants to make sure you are happy with everything. The local food was delicious and Hong Ngu is a great city where you can immerse yourself into the Vietnamese culture. The kids are extremely welcoming, friendly and very enthusiastic to learn english, it was a pleasure to spend two weeks with them, i wish I could've stayed longer. Thanks again for everything and i hope to return again some day soon.

Mr Ty is the best host one could ever ask for- and I'm saying this as a first time WorldPacker! Imagine just how brilliant an experience he must have created! He was supremely accommodating, very kind, and paid close attention to the volunteers' happiness. Hong Ngu is a small town near the Cambodia border and as such the locals haven't seen foreigners or interacted with them much. Which trust me, absolutely adds to your experience there. It's the perfect place for you to immerse yourself in the Vietnamese culture. It's a close knit & fun loving community, it's been a pleasure knowing them.

I had an absolutely amazing experience at the English Centre! This was my first World packers experience and I could not fault it! Mr Ty was very welcoming and friendly and he made sure you had everything you needed. He made it feel like home! He even catered for me being a vegetarian and gave me a variety of options for breakfast, lunch and dinner! The students were very excited to learn English and were a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend this experience, it was a great way to see the rural parts of Vietnam and learn about the culture. We'll be back soon! Thankyou Ty “Oolala”

This experience has been such a great time! honestly we are scared to do another backpackers because we don't want to ruin our experience. Mr T and Shaz have been an absolute blessing. every aspect has been covered by Mr t. if you didn't like the food he would always ask if you want more or want different. he let us absorb all the Vietnamese culture. we played football together on most days when the weather permitted. teaching the students was so fun, they was all very keen to learn and have such an infectious energy! I recommend to anyone looking to submerse themselves into culture.

Volunteering at the center definely was one of the best experience of my 3 months trip in Asia. You can expect accomodation, (local) meals, gifts and plenty of good memories! During my 2-weeks stay I was speaking and teaching to children and teenagers from beginner to advanced english level. Class schedule was flexible so I had some hours free to walk/cycle around, relax and do my stuff. Mr. Ty (the owner) and his friend Viet made me feel like a family during my whole stay. The town is simple and quiet (except for karaokes 😂). I already miss everyone and teaching the children so much! 😌

Thanks for my excellent teacher! in spite of short time but you help me to do a lot of things, so greate to help me any time. Some students asked me why you can speak the same American voice, they will learn a lot if they have a chance to speak with you again.

We hope that, you will come back with us in the near future!
Thanks for your support!
