Teach English in Vietnam!

There aren't enough good words in the world to describe how much I enjoyed my stay at the centre. Ty is one of the nicest people you will ever meet and the children are such a delight to spend time teaching. Ty will take you to try all of the best food in town and sometimes some of the students will join too. Your tasks are mainly helping the children with their speaking and occasionally you will help them with reading too. Some days you can play sports like football, badminton, tennis and pool with Ty and the students which was so much fun. For me, the centre feels like home away from home.

Many thanks! We all really excited when working with Adam, he is amazing teacher, we have learnt from him many things, otherwise we also played sport, drank coffee, learnt culture ... together! everything was interesting.

This was an amazing experience! Ty is so kind and he gets along amazingly with the students and local community. The kids are smart and well behaved. They are anywhere from 6-18 and have different levels of English comprehension, which is great for practicing your communication skills. The food was amazing, and the town has multiple coffee shops to visit in your free time. You can expect to teach for a few hours in the morning, with a lunch and rest break, maybe 1-1.5 hours in the afternoon (not every day), and 2 hours in the evening. Accommodations were modest, but overall great experience.

It was a great experience to volunteer in Ty's center. I stayed 6 weeks there and I started to feel like a part of the community. The students are so interesting and interested in learning English so it is nice to teach them. Ty is always here to help you with everything and provides the best food in the city ! It's a peaceful place to stay with some nice gyms and coffee shops. The only thing is that you don't have two days off per week as mentioned on the website but it was ok for me. I would recommend the school to anyone who wants to have an enriching experience.

What an amazing 2 weeks in Hong Ngu, i've never felt so appreciated and loved for purely speaking english. The children are the sweetest and so enthusiastic just to be able to talk to a foreigner. Ty is also brilliant, providing great food, regular football and lots of information. The living space is very basic but it's got all i needed and felt very very safe. Thanks for everything Ty, i've made a lifelong memory. Until next time :)

I was welcomed very hospitably by Ty. The working hours are around 30 hours instead of 18 hours. Also no day off if you only come for 2 weeks. On Sunday it is only in the morning and you are free the rest of the day. The other days it is 2 or sometimes even 3 times a day. But you get a lot in return. 3 delicious meals a day. A minibus from HCMC and back. You have your own bedroom and air conditioning. Only no bed, but a mattress, and I thought that was fine. And you teach children who really want to learn English and are super sweet. The people in the city are realy friendly. Good experience!!

I had a very nice time at the center! I felt very taken care of. The rooms are very simple and basically just a mattress on the floor and not necessarily clean, but it was fine for me. The students are absolutely wonderful. Apart from the teaching there is not much to do, so beware of a little bit of boredom occasionally. Ty was a great host and very attentive!

I have had a great time staying at the Center. Ty always provided vegetarian food options and made the stay very comfortable! I got in touch with the local culture and the students. We usually worked more than it's mentioned on the profile due to the fact that the Center opens from 8 am to 19:30pm. Also, sometimes it's a bit unstructured and you don't teach sports as mentioned in the profile. It was a special time for me! Thank you so much for this opportunity. I wish all the best for you and the students!

Ty is such a hard working and caring host, it's easy to be motivated by his dedication to the kids at the learning center as well as your care. The hours are a bit longer than advertised, the center is open during the whole day around 8am - 730pm and I was made to be available pretty regularly outside of a lunch break and break for recreation, but it was ok for me just thought I should mention it for transparency. Ty always provided wonderful food, was perceptive to my needs, and is an excellent tennis teacher. I will miss you Ty, the amazing kids, and all the great tea we tried!

Josh is an excellent teacher, he is young and very active, ready to help anytime we need. I really admire him to learn tennis, only 1 week Josh can play very good. We drank fruit tea and talked many things every night.
Thanks very much and hope to see you again in future

Volunteering at the school Ac Center was truly an amazing experience! Speaking with the students is very rewarding and fun. I also learned a lot about Vietnamese culture from these conversations. Ty is an attentive host, he took us to some amazing food spots, we played tennis and I also could go to the gym. The accommodation is simple as mentioned in some of the previous reviews, but comfortable and I had everything I needed. What I would add is that you need to be flexible as the schedule sometimes changes. Also the profile is not 100% accurate and you teach more hours than listed.
