I had a great experience at the hostel. The staff is lovely. Owners Rory and Hannah are great. There are 4 main 5 hour shifts. First is 8 to 1pm, and it's morning reception and house keeping. 10 to 3 which is house keeping. 12 to 5 which i mainly reception but with some housekeeping if they need help. Lastly 5 to 10 which is reception work. Drogheda is really close to Dublin so you could do day trips (get a leap card, but don't do round trip on it, always do singles), and just as close to Belfast. Between the staff the hostel long term guests felt like a big family.

I would fully recommend going to the hostel. Working there is a very fun adventure, there is always new people to meet and nice things to do in the surroundings, the town is nice. The work we do is simple and quick, sometimes can be a little time consuming but nothing you cannot finish during your schedule. Everything is well organized and Rory, Sal and Hanna (the bosses) are ready to help at any time. It's easy to feel home because everybody is very welcoming. I loved my time at the hostel, I learned a lot and would for sure go back and work there again as a volunteer.

S&S was a really welcoming and cozy experience. Rory the hostel staff were extremely kind, instructive, and attentive to any questions/concerns I had. The duties primarily included housekeeping with the ability to do reception should you wish! The staff room was full, which was a bummer, to be honest, but oh well! The city itself is quaint. This area is a decent base should you wish to see Dublin or Belfast. The heart of S&S is its community feel. It really does feel like family, even though I decided to cut my time short to pursue a life back in the States. Thanks for your hospitality, Rory!

The hostel es the most lovely place in the city the hostel staff members are amazing, always helping each and others is almost like a family. The city is a kind of quiet and with a very interesting energy, totally different to something you can find in Latinamerica. It has a few of good pubs around and it's very close to Dublin. I made a very good friends that I'm sure I gonna keep in touch with them. This was my first time doing a volunteer work like this and I think it couldn't be better!

La experiencia en el hostel fue muy buena. Rory confía mucho en los voluntarios y muy pronto podes sentirte en tu hogar. Si es un lugar que demanda de responsabilidad y compromiso y si bien se respetan los horarios y es muy accesible si requieres algún cambio, muchas veces es necesario resolver situaciones fuera de él. Yo creci muchísimo, me divertí y tuve la posibilidad de hacer grandes amigos.

Era para passar apenas 1 mês e acabei ficando 6 meses ! Os voluntários são incríveis, pratiquei muito meu inglês e vi melhora significante !! Foi meu primeiro voluntariado que abriu as portas para outros que viram !

A experiência trouxe muitos aprendizados e acho que tudo que fazemos em nossas vidas agrega. Eu fiquei no shift da recepção, pude praticar o inglês tanto com os outros voluntários como com os hóspedes fazendo check in. Fui muito bem recebida por um dos voluntários, o Djilas que me passou todas as informações necessárias e me ajudou a me instalar e com tudo que precisei.

La relación con el equipo fue muy buena. Al vivir con ellos y con el resto de huéspedes, se genera una dinámica muy bonita entre todos. Me aportó muchos conocimientos sobre como se gestiona un hostal. Importante saber lidiar con situaciones inesperadas y a veces un tanto engorrosas con algunos huéspedes, ya que como en todo hostal, viene gente de todo tipo.

O hostel é muito legal, uma casa grande que constitui uma família mesmo, daquela que se reúne para comer na mesa da cozinha e por os papos em dia! o staff foi a melhor parte de toda experiência, fiz amigos pra vida ali! a Irlanda é realmente uma ilha chuvosa o que dificulta passeios e trips a mercê do tempo! o voluntariado é praticamente limpeza para quem não fala inglês e recepção para quem fala inglês. mas se você se dedicar sempre poderá praticar inglês com quem está na casa ;)

Mi experiencia en the hostel ha sido genial desde el primer día! Esta ha sido mi primera experiencia de voluntariado y me alegra mucho que haya sido aquí. Desde el primer momento me sentí super acogida y como parte de una familia, ha sido un regalo coincidir con gente tan maravillosa. El hostal es un lugar muy agradable y la ciudad de Drogheda está muy bien, tiene bastante vida y está muy bien comunicada con Dublín. El trabajo es sencillo, en mi caso tareas de limpieza principalmente que puedes realizar aún sin experiencia previa. Gracias por todo!✨💚
