My experience in the hostel was such an incredible experience! All was beyond of what I expected : the link with the work team and all the guests, the hostel atmosphere where you can feel like home,etc. Also, the different tasks permit to you to improve your English, especially the reception in an hostel, where you have the good sides and also, the problems with the guests to resolve! I didn't regret my choice of this hostel, Rory is a really good host and is aware about how you feel. Drogheda is a little city, from where you reach easily Dublin and Belfast.

This was my first experience like volunteer. Good place, is a big home with friendly people. The tasks aren't difficult the hostel days are flexibles. You are close to other city's to visit in your days off. Thanks spooner, see you soon!

I arrived at the hostel Star Hostel and I immediately felt very welcome. It's like being in a big busy house and everyone is friendly and helpful. There is a WhatsApp chat channel that helps you all to communicate and know what's happening if you need anything. It's great to stay connected on this channel if you go exploring somewhere on your days off you can share pics and fun stuff. Rory and Hanna the owners are very helpful and always there for you if you need.

The hostel is like a family! I really recommended this place! I enjoyed a lot :) And is a good opportunity to improve your English. The duties are easy the hostel shifts are flexible. The building is on very well conditions the hostel decoration is so cute. There is a staff's room and all the food are included. Drogheda is a little town the hostel is super close to the center. Thanks!!!

The experience was good, cause I think that all the experiences in our lifes are useful. The hostel is a cozy place and we feel like home there, Rory and Hanna and very friendly and easy going people. The hours and days off are respected and negociable, and we also have food included. The city however is quite calm and there isn't so many thing to do there, to visit another cities we always have to go to Dublin, and from there take another bus, what make us spend lot of money.

This was my first experience, and I honestly could not have asked for a better place or better people to spend it with. From the first day it felt like home, everyone who works there are so kind and welcoming, it was most definitely a family. The work and hours are fair, and you have the opportunity to da little bit of everything. This experience allowed me to gain skills in reception, cleaning, cooking, maintenance and in navigating the online programs. The city is wonderfully located with a bus station for exploring bigger cities is just down the road. Thank you & Miss you all SO MUCH!

I had a great experience at the hostel. The staff is lovely. Owners Rory and Hannah are great. There are 4 main 5 hour shifts. First is 8 to 1pm, and it's morning reception and house keeping. 10 to 3 which is house keeping. 12 to 5 which i mainly reception but with some housekeeping if they need help. Lastly 5 to 10 which is reception work. Drogheda is really close to Dublin so you could do day trips (get a leap card, but don't do round trip on it, always do singles), and just as close to Belfast. Between the staff the hostel long term guests felt like a big family.

I would fully recommend going to the hostel. Working there is a very fun adventure, there is always new people to meet and nice things to do in the surroundings, the town is nice. The work we do is simple and quick, sometimes can be a little time consuming but nothing you cannot finish during your schedule. Everything is well organized and Rory, Sal and Hanna (the bosses) are ready to help at any time. It's easy to feel home because everybody is very welcoming. I loved my time at the hostel, I learned a lot and would for sure go back and work there again as a volunteer.
