First I would like to thank Ms Hay and the Vietnamese staff for their support during my entire stay. VCV is my second home , I really loved every moment spent with everybody. The students are just so nice, always willing to learn, to share ideas and to participate to the several outings organized by VCV. The accommodation is great : the rooms are cozy and the meals prepared by the staff is delicious. The class schedules are made carefully so that each volunteer has the same amount of working hours. We always have a day off during the week. I already miss everyone.

My experience had both positive and challenging aspects. The students were wonderful to the school, and the homestay was comfortable. However, I did experience communication issues with management. At times, the tone felt abrupt and emotionally reactive, especially around unavoidable scheduling changes such as visa requirements. Some messages felt unprofessional and made me uncomfortable. Teaching was meaningful, but future volunteers should be aware that the leadership style can be strict and inflexible.

We were disappointed by Ms. Hanna’s volunteering spirit & lack of cooperation. She complained us from adjusting her university schedule, even though these adjustments were necessary to ensure fairness between her & Olivia (12 classes per week each). We were also concerned about her irresponsibility & unprofessional. On her final teaching day, she sent a commanding message at 10:30 am and “wanted” to inform us she was unable to teach due to visa run. This left us no time to notify the students

VCV is the closest one can get to a second family. The staff was beyond welcoming and the willingness of students made the teaching experience a joy. It is a truly immersive experience as you share the dorm with Vietnamese people and easily befriend your students. You will have enough time to explore the city and make day trips. I stayed one month, but wish I stayed longer as I made the greatest memories in Vietnam here. I would love to come back to greet everyone again.

I've had an amazing month with VCV! Living with other volunteers was such a joy, and I've made some incredible friends here. The accommodation was comfortable, and the weekly schedule of cultural activities added so much to the experience. The hosts were always kind, and helpful, and went out of their way to make sure we felt at home. The students were so eager to learn and participate, which made every class enjoyable and fulfilling. This made it one of my best volunteer experiences yet! I already regret leaving so soon and would absolutely love to come back!

VCV was my first volunteer experience with worldpackers, I stayed for 6 weeks, however, I recommend staying a maximum of two months and must say I couldn't have chosen a better one, since the moment I walked in they welcomed me as part of the family, everyone was so friendly and the classes were so nice, I had to the school to adults online and kids, everyone is so interested about learning which makes the experience so good, Miss Hay is so lovely and generous, she is such a great woman being, will miss vcv crew also Vietnam is such a great country to visit as well I highly recommend this place

I had a great time staying and teaching at VCV! Everyone involved is very welcoming, helpful and keen to get to know you and make you feel settled into life in Hanoi. It's a real opportunity to see what life is like in the city, away from the standard tourist experience, which is what I was hoping for. The teaching side of things is enjoyable and it's insightful and fun to talk to local people and learn about their culture firsthand. I'd definitely recommend volunteering at VCV, thanks for having me!

I loved it! Having to experience the Vietnamese lifestyle, attending a couple of weddings, and having to meet so many locals. From this experience, I have learned a lot and I will want to go back to Vietnam in the future. In the beginning, when they first give you a class to the school is hard, and you kind of need to learn how to the school but once you get the hang of it, it is cool, at least for someone like me without real. I also got to see the north country in my free time which is full of breathtaking landscapes and amazing people.

Jon's just awesome to have around! He's super social, always ready to lend a hand, and just makes everyone's day brighter. We love having him on the team. He really got into the Vietnamese lifestyle, even going to weddings and mingling with the locals. Sounds like he had a blast and learned a ton. Teaching was a bit tricky at first for him, but he quickly got the hang of it and found it pretty cool. And when he wasn't teaching, he was out exploring the stunning scenery and meeting amazing folks up north. We are so happy to have him.

I was only at VCV for one month but I had the most incredible experience. Not only did I have the opportunity to the school connect with the students I also met so many amazing other volunteers and formed deep and meaningful connections in a short period of time. Within one day at VCV I already felt included and part of the group :)

An incredible experience. Everyone is really warm and welcoming and you will feel like home only after a couple of days. I loved the fact that VCV organised different events outside of teaching which gave you a chance to get to know students better and explore local culture. You have loads of free time for yourself, exploring city or spending time with other volunteers. I couldn't recommend this enough :)

We had the pleasure of having Emilija volunteer with us for three months, and we couldn't be more grateful for her dedication and hard work. Emilija is not only very nice and responsible but also incredibly lovely. Despite not being very talkative, she exudes a warmth that makes everyone around her feel comfortable and appreciated. Her friendly demeanor and positive attitude have truly brightened our workspace. We are thankful for her contributions and wish her all the best in her future endeavors.
