The Experience

We have a few volunteers staying at the hostel to socialise with the backpackers and help them make the most of their holiday and get the goods reviews that our hostel relies on! We also require help in reception and cleaning. Equally important is being able to control the noise levels at night to avoid complaints from our neighbours. We give priority to people speaking english and spanish fluently

I had a great time volunteering in the hostel. The team is great, welcoming and friendly and the tasks were very manageable and easy. Giulia is planning the shifts very well so there is plenty of free time to enjoy and to explore the beautiful surrounding areas and Cinque Terre. Having other volunteers there at the same time also made the experience fun and enjoyable. Definitely recommend!

I had an excellent time volunteering at the hostel. The staff we're excellent, super friendly, social and welcoming. I was very fortunate as well to have two other volunteers to travel and explore with which made the experience all the better. The shifts were really reasonable and allowed you plenty of freedom to do activities during the day, even on days which you were working. During my volunteering, a family member came to visit me and Giulia kindly rearranged the shift to allow me to have time to spend them. Overall, it was a really fun and rewarding experience.

Very good environment, friendly team and prepare to live in community… is important to be considerate of the space you share… staff super helpful, workload is nice and the city is so beautiful and small… I learned Italian but there is a lot of English speakers in the city in general so not a problem when I couldn't communicate in Italian… would definitely come back and recommend.

I'm so grateful for my experience at the hostel. The month went by super quickly with the staff and other volunteers and I never felt like I ran out of places to see. All the working hours and tasks were well respected and enjoyable :) thank you Guilia for everything.

I spent six unforgettable weeks there, surrounded by amazing people and breathtaking landscapes. The atmosphere at the hostel is warm and welcoming—I felt part of a little family from the very beginning. La Spezia is the perfect spot for travelers who enjoy hiking, with plenty of incredible trails and sea views, especially around Cinque Terre. And after a long day outdoors, you can enjoy delicious local food—totally worth it! I truly recommend this volunteer opportunity to anyone who wants to connect with people from all over the world, explore nature, and enjoy good food :D
