The Experience

My daughter & I have welcomed volunteers for over 12 years now & love meeting new people on their varied World journeys. The work is physically demanding-mucking out horses, goats & sheep. General maintenance & groundwork. Some renovation & decorating. Our property of 20 acres is 5 minutes walk from Confolens town & in beautiful countryside for exploring. I am a fully qualified English teacher, willing to help out with language difficulties.

My stay with Louis, Abby and Blain couldn't have been better! They are such lovely and warm people, it was so nice to stay in their beautiful home for a month. I really enjoyed being close to nature and working with the animals, it was very rewarding and you learn so many things while you're working. Every day we were served an amazing meal, the food was truly wonderful! I cherish this experience and recommend everyone to apply!😊

My time at the farm was a dream come true. Louise, Abby and Blaine are the most amazing people. So welcoming and friendly. Their home is beautiful and very comfortable. Every meal was incredible. Louise and Abby are amazing chefs. The daily work with the animals is engaging and fulfilling. The animals themselves are the best and you grow very attached to them. Louise is a great teacher and is very patient. I feel like I've walked away from this experience with new knowledge and skills. I loved my time here so much and will forever cherish it. Thank you Louise, Abby and Blaine!!!

I had the best time with Louise, Abby and Blaine! They are the sweetest family and are so fun to be around. This was my first volunteer experience and it could not have been more perfect. The working hours were honored, the town was beautiful, and the food was the BEST ever and packed with flavor, Louise is the best cook. The animals were sweet and easy to work with and the tasks we did day-to-day were consistant and entertaining. Louise is the best teacher and is very patient. She always explains tasks with detail and appreciates questions. My time here was amazing and I miss them already!

I had an amazing time with Louise, Abby and Blaine. They are really kind and welcoming. My room was amazing, I would recommend warm socks in the winter, if you get cold easily. I adjusted to the work and routine quickly and Louise was very patient. She explained everything clearly, and was easy to work with. The cooking is delicious, (coming from a picky eater, I liked every single meal ). I would recommend it to everyone. Thank you for the amazing time <3

This was my first time on worldpackers and it couldn't have been better. Louise, Abby and Blaine are the most kind people you'll ever meet. In my opinion everything was perfect; the work hours, the different types of tasks, the delicious food, the cutest animals, the company... Confolens is a beautiful town with so much to do (especially in the summer time), but the people in it are even better:) I'm very thankful for this experience and everything I've learned from it. Thank you again to best of the bestest host:)))
