The Experience

My daughter & I have welcomed volunteers for over 12 years now & love meeting new people on their varied World journeys. The work is physically demanding-mucking out horses, goats & sheep. General maintenance & groundwork. Some renovation & decorating. Our property of 20 acres is 5 minutes walk from Confolens town & in beautiful countryside for exploring. I am a fully qualified English teacher, willing to help out with language difficulties.

Had an amazing time! the most welcoming people with great stories to share. It's a very tightly run ship, organisation and routines are key and make things go smoothly. I enjoyed my stay in Confolens a lot! The small town was full of live with concerts, food markets and an upcoming festival! The hosts are lovely people, talented in their cooking skills and always really kind to us. The working hours are clearly organised- divided into two shifts over the day. The work is physically demanding but fun - feeding animals, mucking out their stalls or helping around the house. I can recommend this place to anyone looking for a warmhearted family-farm-work-experience. You'll grow to love the animals! Thanks Louise for this first lovely Worldpackers stay!

I had an amazing month with Louise, Abby, and Blaine. They're incredibly kind and welcoming, and everything was well-organized from the start. The work was exactly as we had agreed upon—clear, manageable, and enjoyable. I learned a lot about healthy food, animal care, and life in the countryside. Their home is beautiful, and the animals are adorable and fun to be around. It was a rewarding experience, and I'm really grateful for the time spent with them. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a similar experience.
