This was a great experience, I really appreciate the time I spent here. This experience allowed me to get to know the city and culture on another level. The accommodation was great and included curtains in a shared room with other volunteers. The tasks were fairly easy. However I would have liked the schedule to be a bit more consistent. It is easy to work when you're on the premises and not on schedule. The only con I have is that if you are a digital nomad like me, there isn't really a great spot to work without being distracted by others. Other than that, Unkas was a very kind host.

The tasks are simple and not demanding, which leaves free time to explore Sarajevo. Very good location, and the money given for breakfast is generous and enough to cover daily meals. Unfortunately, the working environment can be stressful. The host's attitude can become aggressive, and responses can be disrespectful, often with a harsh tone and raised voice. Treating sometimes volunteers as if we are incapable or stupid. Communication is difficult and leads to tension. Mary has a cold and unfriendly attitude. With more respectful treatment, this experience could be much better.

Evelin is a person who has to be told what to do all the time. There were two volunteers next to her, and she always blamed the other one, and it was difficult for us to communicate.
I hope that in time she will gain enough experience and be a good volunteer.

I had such a great and rewarding time volunteering at the hostel for 7 weeks! I was there in the off-season so I did not stay at the apartment, but volunteers had their own space in the hostel apart from guests. It was a great experience I would easily do again. I will say sometimes you are at the whim of what the owner decides but Unkas is a very fair host who is willing to work with you to have a great time. Communication is generally very good and I would easily repeat the experience over and come back anytime!

This hostel is absolutely the best in Sarajevo. It has such a great atmosphere which is reflected in the attitudes of the staff and visitors. This also makes it easy to meet new people. The location is central, close to both the old town and newer areas. The working hours and days off are respected by Unkas, and he is pretty flexible about scheduling. There is a bit of room for improvement in communication about tasks but I think that it had more to do with the fact it was the off season and there was therefore less to do. Overall it was a fantastic experience and I would highly recommend!

The hostel it's one of the gems in Sarajevo, my experience volunteering here was nice especially because the staff (and volunteers), the please is cozy and good energy, the guests are nice and easy to hangout and meet new people. The place is in the city center, so is easy to move around. The working hours and days off are respected and Unkas the owners it's really flexible about these. Not everything was perfect but overall my experience was really nice, I leave loving the city and the locals.

My stay at the hostel was amazing! The hostel is very social, so that I got to know a lot of cool and interesting people, and the city itself is fascinating too. Regarding the accomodation, volunteers have their own apartment 2 minutes away from the hostel, and sleep in regular (not bunk) beds. As for the team, the owner, Unkas, is amazing; if he sees that you are committed during your shift he will really open his heart to you! Also Edin is a very nice and fun guy, and being older than me he even thought me some life lessons :-). Overall, the experience is 100% recommmended!!!

This was Emma and I's first experience volunteering and it was such a fun time! Everyone was nice, the work was easy and the shifts were often quite enjoyable. It was also nice to stay in the apartment as it meant downtime was more restful. Unkas was very kind and generous to us and by the end we were very sad to be leaving the hostel and Sarajevo itself (such an awesome city)!

This was a great experience! I highly recommend to fellow travelers who want to socialize in a relaxed environment and explore an extremely interesting city. Unkas cares a lot about his volunteers and always makes sure everyone is happy. He is very easy to talk to and is super flexible. The workload is very manageable and is rotated a bit so it's quite fair. The bar shifts are of course the most fun. The volunteers stay in an apartment a block away which is very spacious and has a beautiful view from the terrace. Overall I really enjoyed my time there and I would love to come back!
