Tortugas de Isla Damas

Volunteers can enjoy quiet moments by themselves.
It's a good place to rest and take time for you.
During the season they are lot of turtle and you can be part of their protection.
See the baby turtle going in the sea is a unique moment.
Groups and families are welcome!
We are a small local family living in a non turistic place. It's very quiet and remote. The wellness of our volunteers is very important for us. We want to share our knowledge about sea turtles and our culture. We also want to let volunteers have quiet moments for them. In respect with the place and project rules, freedom and well-being is a priority for us.

Emma and Milo make a great team! They cordinated with me to make sure I arrived safely and seamlessly every step of the way. They both were great about answering their phones which is super important. The food was pretty good and they don’t shame you for asking for seconds either! The work is relatively laid back and quite easy really. Emma also helps organize little trips around Costa Rica if you want to see more of the land. Mostly I just spent my days being a beach bum and releasing turtles and the nights talking with the other volunteers and going on turtle patrol.

Nous avons été super bien accueillis et pris en charge à Isla Damas. La logistique des transport, du terminus au camp, est très appréciée. Milo, Emma et Sonia sont incroyables. On a super bien mangé. Nous étions dans un période de faible taux de nidification, mais de haut taux de relâchement des bébés tortues. Alors, pendant les 4 jours de notre volontariat, nous avons vu et recueilli les oeufs d'un nid et relâcher 1000 bébés tortues. Des moments forts. L'endroit est magnifique. Une plage sur le Pacifique quasi inoccupée avec des couchers de soleil magnifique. Une magnifique expérience.

I know this sounds cheesy, but the entire week was like a movie from start to finish. Emma and Milo made us feel so welcome and loved. We were steps away from the ocean and I felt one with nature the entire week!

This project was the best thing I have ever done in my life. I love what they are doing here, I see that Milo the project leader put all his effort into conservation these species of sea turtles. He is kind hearted and he cares a lot about the volunteers to make sure we’re safe. I’m grateful to have experienced this and being able to see two sea turtles, it was beautiful. I am also grateful to have met people from different countries and to be able to make new friendships. I highly recommend anyone try this project out!

Una de las mejores experiencias, Emma, Milo y su familia hacen un muy buen trabajo haciéndote sentir como en casa, desde antes de que llegues se aseguran de que estés cómodo y feliz, la isla es un paraíso y se siete una paz increíble, aprendes todos los días algo nuevo sobre las tortugas y la vida en la isla, tienes la oportunidad de convivir y compartir con los locales lo cual lo hace una experiencia maravillosa y tuve la fortuna de compartir cada momento con personas increíbles de otros países y culturas
