Seaside Home

The location is ideal to see some of the most beautiful coastline and national parks in England. Our home is just a short walks from the heart of a thriving small seaside town, with lots going on.

Given a good rapport, we like to treat our working guest like a member of our family. Often we take them out to local beauty spots such as Dartmoor and other coastal towns. We like our volunteers guests to have a positive experience with us, to be a success . The degree of our involvement is with our guests largely lead by the volunteer - i.e. how much they want to engage with us and whether they are flexible and can be left to get on with things . I usually cook most of the meals although a volunteer may offer to cook if they wish to from time to time. We enjoy trying foods from different cultures. I often cook Indian or Thai style curries

This was my first time volunteering and I had a lovely experience! Both Glyn and Danny were very welcoming and made sure I felt at home :) The tasks were pretty simple, I mostly just helped around the house and did whatever little tasks needed to be done at the moment.
Teignmouth is a lovely city and there's some really nice places to explore, Glyn gave me good tips on where to go on my free time!
And of course can't forget Pancho, what a unique little dog, miss him already!

This was my second time travelling through Worldpackers and the first staying at someone's home, which may seem it intimidating, but it wasn’t at all. Glyn and Dan are very welcoming and comfortable sharing their space with other people. Tasks were simple and manageable, and Teignmouth is beautiful and close to other small towns that are worth a visit. Overall, a really good experience. Thank you!

I’m very grateful for my stay with Glyn, Dan & Pancho. They were very generous and caring hosts who really made an effort to accomodate for me. I enjoyed the work I was helping them with & they were very grateful for my contribution which was nicely rewarding. I came to them when I was feeling a bit homesick in my travels & they were very conscious of my feelings & gave me space but also support when I needed it.
They were also great at actively suggesting things I could do to fill my time, explore the local areas & meet new people if I so wished. Their profile description is very accurate.

It was an absolute pleasure staying with Glyn and Danny! Both were incredibly welcoming to their home, and were keen to help me explore Teignmouth and the surrounding areas!

Teignmouth which seems small at first, offers lots to explore, with gorgeous art galleries, and lively pubs! And as the weather warms up, lots of beach to walk by and if you don’t mind a chilly dip to swim in!

The work is fair, and whilst occasional hard, if you are willing to put in the effort, Glyn and Danny make sure that in return you are well looked after, and have some really memorable days off!!

This was an amazing opportunity!! First off, Glyn & Dan were beyond fantastic!! Very loving and welcoming! As soon as I met them I knew I was going to love them! Second off!! The king of the house Pancho was the best! Once he warms up to you, he’ll always want to be around you! He loves playing and being chased! He is the most handsome king in all of the land! The work was very easy and straightforward. I typically started work in the late morning and ended in early afternoon. Then you have the rest of the day! The beach is only about fifteen minutes walk. And tons of pubs! Highly recommend!
