La Cruz Verde

Volunteers will gain valuable insights into the needs and specialized care of various local wildlife species, including nutrition and suitable living conditions in a natural environment. They will also engage in the complex processes of rehabilitating and relocating rescued animals back into their habitats. Additionally, veterinary care at our animal clinic plays a crucial role in our wildlife conservation efforts.

While our work with wildlife is a vital part of our mission, volunteers will also engage in enriching cultural exchanges with local indigenous communities. This close contact provides a unique perspective on a way of life that emphasizes foraging and harvesting the diverse "fruits" and resources offered by the Amazon rainforest.

Engaging in construction projects using local materials and basic tools is an excellent way to enhance creativity and manual skills. Working with the jungle’s flora also offers invaluable knowledge about edible, medicinal, and craft-worthy plants. Additionally, through the contributions of our volunteers, we establish a Health Fund, providing vital support to community members in times of emergency, accidents, and illness.

Once the school location is established, we will offer a variety of educational courses, including language classes in Tacana and English, as well as math and environmental education. These classes will be conducted by skilled local teachers and supported by volunteers, ensuring a rich learning experience for all.

At La Cruz Verde, we are a passionate team dedicated to our work, deeply respecting the forest and every form of life within it. Joining us in the Bolivian Jungle promises an unforgettable experience as you immerse yourself in our commitment to conservation and community.

I have absolutely no words to describe my stay at La Cruz Verde. The original plan was to spend 2 weeks there, but I am now at 4 weeks (and counting!), and many of my fellow volunteers have done the same. The animals, the people, and the tech-free environment have made this place into a true home away from home. The work is hard and the conditions are very rustic, but if you love animals and you are keen to get of the grid and meet some amazing people, I would 1000% recommend this experience to anyone and everyone. Thank you so much to everyone who has made my experience unforgettable! <3

This experience was life changing, we had so much fun thanks to the people as well as the amazing monkeys and animals. We learnt so much about the environment as well as ourselves, we feel very privileged to have been able to take part in this opportunity. It is very tough and took us well outside of our comfort zone , the work, the living conditions and being off grid but overall it was completely worth it. Thank you La Cruz!

Monkeys adorable! Work peaceful, usually in the jungle for 5-6 hours a day just watching and feeding the monkeys. Hot and mosquitoy. Mostly vegetarian except for one day of the week. Little boring in the afternoons. About 10 min boat ride or 30 min walk to rurrenbaque. No electricity or convection to outside world. Good experience overall!
