J-Hoppers Biwako Guesthouse

Great place to relax. Very peaceful. We have a futsal court in front of our buildings and free to use it any time. We are located near by Lake Biwa, the largest lake in Japan. The comfortable relaxed mood always. This will be best place for you if you are tired of busy, city life.

We treat the volunteers as our friends. We enjoy sports activity together. We have a weekly futsal game at our court and encourage everyone to join. Our staff come from all over the world and love to exchange culture and languages.

A really clean hostel with amazing nature all around. I can only recommend it if you enjoy spending time alone and being in nature. If you prefer meeting people, it’s less suitable. Unfortunately, it gets very cold in winter, which makes some things difficult since it’s quite remote. Still, it’s a beautiful place with incredibly kind staff who welcomed me with open arms!

The stay in J-Hoppers Biwako was my first volunteering experience and it was amazing! Akane-san and the other permanent staff members were all very friendly and the tasks were nothing unexpected. The working hours were always as agreed on even if we didn’t finish the task. The location of the Guesthouse was nice as well with a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains and the Biwa lake. All together it was an really amazing experience:D

I had a great time here.
Everyone around Akane san was nice and considerate. The work hours and loads were realistic.
The nature around the building was beautiful and I can highly recommend going here.
One might think the rules given to you at the start of your stay are too much and too strict, but it’s super easy to follow them and it’s also hard to break them.
