Located in a vibrant township about 45 minutes from downtown, our place is accessible via public buses, online taxis like Uber and Bolt, and motorcycle taxis.

Our community is known for its warm hospitality and friendly residents who are always willing to help. While the area is generally safe, we encourage you to stay cautious as safety is not always guaranteed.

The daycare project is just a short walk from the house, making it convenient for you to engage with the wonderful and grateful children there. Our accommodation includes private and shared rooms, allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, so please request private rooms in advance due to limited availability.

We provide three meals a day, mostly featuring African cuisine such as rice with fish, potatoes, beans, and pasta. On weekends, you might even enjoy some pizza as we experiment with new recipes.

We look forward to making your stay comfortable and enriching!

My friend and I stayed with Elina’s family for just over three weeks and it was an amazing experience. We spent time with locals, learned about their culture, and felt part of everyday life in Tanzania. Life was super chill—classes in the morning and afternoon with time to relax in between. The food was fresh and tasty, and Elina, Jovin, and Joseph were so welcoming, helping us with trips and making us feel safe. The kids stole my heart, and I admire Elina so much for starting her school and giving them such valuable opportunities.

What made the biggest impression on me were the people. Elina, Joseph and the local community were extremely welcoming, always ready to share their culture. It was really interesting! The children were so friendly and full of energy, and we had a lot of fun. I felt included, especially through the food, daily routines and I even learned some swahili along the way. Life there was simple, but I adapted quickly and enjoyed living more like the locals. It was an eye-opening cultural exchange where I got to see life from a different perspective. It was truly an unforgettable experience.

Staying with Elina and Joseph was a truly meaningful experience.

They were so kind, welcoming, and always ready to help. From arranging a safari, to supporting us when plans changed. I loved immersing myself in the local culture and even learning some Swahili.

The first days were a bit of a culture shock and the accommodation was simple, but that only made the experience more authentic. Overall, it was a eye-opening, valuable, and very memorable experience.

The kids and people in Chamazi village will always have a special place in my heart.

As my first volunteering experience at Hope Haven Childcare in Chamazi, Tanzania, I can honestly say it was exactly what I expected — nothing more, nothing less. If someone asked me whether I would do it again - my answer would be 100% yes.
From the first day, Elina, Joseph, Jovin, and other locals made us feel welcome and appreciated. They helped us with everything we needed, introduced us to local food, and genuinely took care of us :).
Working with the children was worth every bit of tiredness — they were adorable, full of energy, and always eager to learn something new.

Volunteering at Hope Haven Childcare in Tanzania was one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. From the moment I arrived, Elina, Jovin, and Joseph welcomed me with warmth and made me feel like family. The children stole my heart with their smiles, curiosity, and love for learning—it was a joy to teach and play with them each day. I loved immersing myself in the culture, learning Swahili, and sharing daily life with the community. Saying goodbye was so hard, but I left with a heart full of gratitude. I truly recommend this project to anyone—you will give a lot, but you’ll receive more!
