On arrival I already felt welcome, as I had enjoyed a reliable communication with Helen during my arrival. Even though she couldn't be there at that time of day (12pm), another voluntair waited for me (in consent). She's a really inspiring, almost selfless woman who spends all her time and energy on the dogs wellbeing. Still she finds strength to coordinate the voluntairs in a loving and respectful way. Afterall we had quite the fun together with her and the voluntairs, which made working easy:) the overall tasks are really doable and there is a nice routine you'll learn in no time. <3

Having Helen as our host turned an already wonderful experience into something a hundred times better. I will always remember those two incredible weeks, where we met amazing volunteers and enjoyed the company of a fantastic host who made sure every day we were in the best conditions. What an amazing place with wonderful dogs and such breathtaking sunsets and views of the countryside of Bulgaria. Thank you so much for everything and I really hope to come back one day!

My partner and I had an amazing time volunteering at the dog sanctuary in Bulgaria. We helped care for the dogs and also looked after two sweet kittens. It was a beautiful and rewarding experience that we’ll never forget.
We are definitely coming back soon!!

I had one of the best times at the dog shelter. All the dogs (and cats) were so sweet and friendly, always happy to receive affection, and you felt like you were giving them a few wonderful moments that they all more than deserve.
The routines are clear and ensure that all the dogs are properly cared for. Helen does everything for her dogs and you can see how much she cares about everyone of them. Helen is an absolute power woman with such a big heart, both for the animals and for her volunteers.
I was so sad to leave and I wish I could‘ve stay longer!I will definitely come back

This was an awesome experience, that I’ll never forget. For someone who loves dogs is this the perfect volunteering. I had so much fun but I also gained a lot of experience. Some days were harder than the others obviously, but nothing unmanageable.
We were starting very early in the morning and Helen does not buy meat for us to cook. Those were only two factors I had to get used to.
Overall I had a great time and it really made me want to do more volunteering, as this was my first time volunteering.
