Gaarawe

The present project aims to establish a community based on the economy of sufficiency, capable of producing food and essential goods for both internal consumption and providing hospitality to visitors. The community will operate in harmony with living beings and the surrounding environment. It will exist both in a virtual sense, as a network for exchanging information and contacts, and in a real sense, fostering human and commercial relationships with a shared commitment to living in a place where the "meaning of life" is based on empathy and the symbiosis of Man and Nature.

To strive to transcend the chaos of places ravaged by concrete and battered by the economic and social system of globalized capitalism, it is necessary to foster a culture of shared responsibility. The promotion of a society built on "duties before rights," empathy, and respect for fellow humans and Mother Earth is essential.

We have some wonderful itineraries of uncommon places to visit: caves, waterfalls, trekking, canoeing, big tree, fascinating temples, hot springs, the largest dam, and our beautiful river where we cool, we swim, and fishing.
Walking in the forest, in January, the Rataflesia , a flower, the largest in the world that was born only here.
This is the most primitive forest of the planet

Volunteers and residents live under the same conditions together as we prepare the day's program. Every day we dedicate ourselves to routine maintenance: we feed the chickens and the dogs, water the garden and collect fruit and vegetables to eat together. Sometimes we make jams or canned fruit for our breakfast.

My experience at Gaarawé was truly unique. Even though I was the only volunteer during my two-week stay, I learned so much about sustainability and permaculture. Lele is very knowledgeable and always willing to share his wisdom and life experience.

The work at the villa is relaxed and enjoyable, and there's plenty of freedom to explore the area in your free time (you can rent motorbikes at the guesthouse next door).

It was a beautiful and enriching experience in a magical place—perfect for learning and disconnecting from the routine and chaos of the city.

I totally recommend it!

Gaarawe was amazing!
Lele is great, he can teach you about permaculture and how to live more sustainable.
The work was really nice and chill. I mainly helped with the cob house and gardening, which was a lot of fun!
The village is in the jungle, which i thought was really cool! You’re truly in nature.
This means that there is not much close by, but you can ask Lele about activities, rent a scooter next door, or hitch hike.
The thai family was also so nice!! The food is amazing and they will help you with anything.
I miss it already! Thanks Lele for everything!! 🫶🏼

We just did a 3 days stay in which we had the opportunity to meet some volunteers and Lele who was very welcoming. He has very strong sustainable ideas and his philosophy is very contagious. We just had time to see the project which is beautiful. Is also amazing to rent a motorbike to visit Khao Sok and the surroundings

I’m very grateful for my time at Garawee Village and for all the experiences I was able to have there. Even though I left earlier than planned, I would still recommend it to anyone who wants to discover a new lifestyle and is open to new things. Lele is an incredibly kind person, and you can really tell how much he loves his project – it’s wonderful to see! So if you’re okay with being around all kinds of animals, go for it – you won’t regret it! Thank you for the time.
