My experience at Chevaux de Colombettes was absolutely amazing. I had a really great time taking care of animals/plants and helping with house chores. Sylvie and Jérôme were really welcoming and kind and took me to the local markets and to open-air cinemas. This experience is also perfect for those who want to improve their French because Jérôme will more than gladly correct all you mistakes and will discuss all kind of linguistic questions :). Thank you Sylvie and Jerome, I'll never forget the moments we spent together.

My experience started off well—I was enjoying my time and things were fine. However, when a personal situation came up, and I told the host I might need to return to my country to help my family, everything changed. He didn't believe me, claiming others had said the same, when I had no reason to leave before that point. He showed no empathy and became hostile. Eventually, we ended up arguing, and I decided to leave before things escalated.

I truly loved spending time with the animals, but unfortunately, things didn’t work out with Jerome (I didn't meet Sylvie, so I can't opine about her).

I had a peaceful time at Chevaux de Colombettes. Sylvie and Jerome are very nice and kind people and the animals are sweet as well. Everything meets the description and the work is very easy and light.
I got to taste a lot of new foods and got inspiration for cooking. I also grew some interest in plants as I saw how many plants Sylvie and Jerome grow.
This one is definitely a 'reconnecting with nature' -typa thing as it is the countryside. There's a lot of free time and the place is far away from towns so that's something that one must keep in mind when considering applying to this position.

I absolutely loved my stay here! Sylvie and Jerome are caring, understanding and overall really amazing. We had great times in the kitchen, watching movies, visiting local markets, etc.
My days mainly consisted of taking care of the animals (feeding, lunging/riding, etc.) and making/eating great food.
As the others have mentioned, I had no “full days off” but that’s to be expected as we are taking care of animals. I also never asked so it might be a possibility.
I could not recommend them enough and I even hope to come back later in the season.
Thank you so much Sylvie and Jerome! ❤️

This is the place to reconnect to nature and to yourself, sharing great meals, and taking care of animals, it is quite better for you to come if you already have experience with horses but this was a good experience for me. Thanks to them to have shared this month with me.
