I had a great experience volunteering at Central Backpackers. The work includes different shifts such as reception, beds & laundry, and cleaning bathrooms and common areas. The schedule is given one week in advance and any changes are always discussed.

Antony, the manager, is very kind and supportive, and both staff and volunteers are friendly and welcoming. It’s a great place to practice English, make friends, and experience the local culture. Oxford is a lovely city where everything is close.

I had an amazing experience at CB! The team is incredible and Anthony is such a great manager. He is so flexible with the schedule which makes it easy to travel around and explore. The location is perfect and Oxford is such a beautiful city! Hope to see you all soon again!

My experience at Central Backpackers was good. The hostel is very central and days off were usually approved without problem. I didn’t like the division between leaders and volunteers, as they mostly gave instructions or helped with basic tasks, but communication was always open with Antony and the team. I was always willing to support schedule changes or help where needed. I worked in cleaning, housekeeping, and reception. It helped me improve my English and gain cultural experience

A hostel highly committed to the well-being of guests and volunteers. Practicing hospitality and socialization are the main qualities of this place. I was lucky to have wonderful colleagues and a very friendly and flexible host regarding work schedules and days off. I recommend Central Backpackers to everyone and would like to give a special thanks to Anthony for being a great host and doing everything he can to help.

I had a wonderful time working at CBO, it was my first Worldpackers experience and couldn't have asked for anything better. One of the best experience overall, learnt so much about the ins and out of hospitality industry: managing the day-to-day operations, guest experience among other things.

Above else, made a lot of memories and friends. The host: Anthony and owners: Greg and Nate were super helpful and nice. And I can't thank them enough.

Special mention to the fellow volunteer. I will cherish the memories for a long time.
