Agriturismo CZ

Me and my partner Jo moved to Umbria, Orvieto to follow our dream of living and working in Italy, we are passionate about sustainable olive farming and creating a fantastic stay for all our guests. We've had many people stay with us and help us out, its a fun place to be, its pretty rural and quiet most of the time but there are some lovely local villages and towns within walking/cycling distance. If you enjoy for the most part working outside on the land and lets face it mostly quite tough manual work even if you've never done it before and you are willing to learn we can show you! Depending on how busy we are there is also cleaning apartments and basic DIY. After we finish work at lunchtime time is your own...in the past we have had single travellers but because all your afternoons and evenings plus days off are your own then unless you love your own company friends or couples seem to work best.

Jo and I live and work in the main farmhouse with our black labrador Jack, we are probabaly half way through a huge renovation of the house, we pride ourselves in creating a great environment for volunteers to enjoy, some friendly chat, and some great food. We expect 5/6 hrs a day for 5 days a week volunteering in exchange for food and accommodation. No two days are the same, work is varied and can range from strimming to planting to looking after olive trees, log splitting , clearing land and obviously cleaning. If the weather is bad we also have inside jobs like furniture restoration or painting. We speak English and are learning Italian.

I loved the time I got to spend with Tony and Jo! They were both so kind and the location was absolutely unreal. The working hours were always as agreed and the tasks were not too difficult. Jack, their dog, is so sweet and I had a great time taking him on morning walks. Tony is also an amazing cook and the meals were always fantastic!! I am grateful for the opportunity I got to stay with this amazing couple and would recommend it to everyone!

I stayed with Jo and Tony for 4 weeks and had such a great experience. They’re both so kind and easy to be around, and Tony’s cooking is amazing, every meal was something to look forward to! The work was light and manageable, and they were super flexible with my schedule, which made everything very comfortable. The area itself is beautiful, and walking their dog Jack was always a great way to start the day! Overall, it was such a relaxing and welcoming stay, and I’m really grateful I got to spend time with them. I would recommend this to everyone!

We both had a really enjoyable time with Tony, Jo & Nic. We learned a variety of skills & gained knowledge around agro tourism. The location is beautiful however it is isolated without transport, there is one bus to Orvieto on a Saturday morning. The apartment we lived in was spacious and included everything we needed. It was great having a kitchen , bathroom and bedroom all to ourselves as well as a balcony with incredible views. Daily tasks are simple but can be hard work in the heat. Jack, the family dog is also extremely cute and good natured. We would definitely recommend this experience!

I had an incredible time with the family, I learned a lot about construction techniques, assembled furniture and of course some cooking recipes. Food was amazing, the house is a dream place and big boy Jack who's joining me on almost every walk around haha. Thanks so much to the whole family for everything <3

Living with Tony, Jo, Jack and Nic was absolutely amazing!

I felt super welcome and involved from day one. My opinion was always taken into account and I was asked to contribute with some ideas too. There is an entire apartment dedicated to volunteers, and it has everything you might need
Working hours and days were always as agreed. The tasks are quite varied since there are a lot of things to do and to contribute with
The food Tony cooks is beyond amazing and was always on time. And on top of all of that, he always made sure I learned new skills that I could apply on any other situation
