Mi experiencia en el proyeto fue muy bien. Pude participar en distintas actividades, como la creación de artesanías o la limpieza de playas, lo que hace que el voluntariado resulte ameno y dinámico. Permite conocer de cerca el proyecto del pez león y su importancia en el ecosistema de la zona. También sobre sostenibilidad, el reciclaje y reutilización de los residuos plásticos. Belu y Emilio son geniales, atentos y siempre dispuestos a ayudar y enseñar :)

Minha experiencia trabalhando com o projeto foi incrível. Emilio e Belu foram hosts muito amáveis e comunicativos. Foi a primeira vez que acreditaram no meu trabalho e senti que pude ser util e causar um impacto de verdade. Aprendi muito sobre sustentabilidade e consumo responsável, mas principalmente pude evoluir e desenvolver minhas habilidade com manejo de redes e design. Mesmo estando em baixa temporada fizeram questão de me incluir nos passeios e atividades que planejaram. A acomodação esta super bem cuidada, limpa e nao me faltou nada. Super recomendo o projeto, quero voltar logo! <3

I had an amazing time at the project! Emilio and Belen are great hosts, and create a welcoming and fun environment from the moment you arrive. Tasks and expectations were outlined clearly and followed- the work is super enjoyable and you still have plenty of time in the day afterwards. If you are someone who has fun doing arts and crafts like me, this is perfect for you.

I got the opportunity to volunteer with the project. I learned about recycling and making handicrafts in a warehouse, The tasks are easy, I had my place to sleep, a kitchen to prepare my food, nice bathroom and shower, also they let me use a bicycle to move in the island. Emilio, my host is an open mind person, easy communication. I enjoy hanging out with Emilio, Belen and Ricardo. Thank you the project!!

We had a great time during our stay with Emilio. We learned about the lionfish, an invasive species in bocas, and we made jewelry out of its fins. There were a few other tasks that were easy and the working hours were fair and quite flexible! You sleep in a warehouse next to the airport, but you could always take the bike to bocas town, which was like a 3 minute ride :)

We really enjoyed our time volunteering at the project! Making jewelry and learning about different sustainable projects was fun and meaningful. You get the opportunity of living on a carribean island in exchange for really fair work hours and tasks. Emilio is a great host and very passionate about his project. As long as you stick to house rules, the energy is nice and welcoming. We would for sure recommend this project!

I learned a lot about recycling and the problems that the lionfish causes in this part of the ocean. The work was very variable and fun. You learn about jewelry making and get to explore the islands because you have a lot of free time. You can spend the day at the beach or go take a walk through the islands. The location is a bit further away from the city center but you can reach it easily and fast by bike.

The experience at the project was really nice. You can see that Emilio is really interested in environmental topics, and he has a lot of ideas. He is very sociable and open-minded. I learned interesting facts about the invasive lionfish, the creation of jewelery and plastic pollution in Bocas del Toro. We brainstormed about general ideas and my task was to create design sketches for the website of the project. I could manage my own working hours. The accommodation is very basic and rustic, but there is plenty to do and see, and you can explore Bocas by bike.

Mi experiencia en la isla a sido francamente enriquecedora. Puedes conocer zonas realmente paradisíacas en distintas islas que forman el archipiélago. El ambiente te cautiva. Con el equipo el proyeto hemos participado, desde limpieza de playas, pesca submarina, tours por distintas islas, cenas, bailes, eventos.. En fin una familia con Emilio que hace que tu estancia sea agradable y sobre todo enriquecedora a nivel concienciación con el medio.
