It was so nice to be there even for a little while. Eli and Wolfgang are such amaxing hosts. Wolfgang is so full of energy and eli is so patient and caring. Just as an honest review, work is hard, there is a lot of information to get, so I think is best to go for at least a month to truly get the hang of it

I'm very grateful for discovering this place. For my the Center it has meant a very positive change in my lifestyle that I will always carry in my heart. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the environment makes you think that you are submerged in a dream. I think the Center is a defense of free and wild life where you start to question work as indoctrination and the market as the only god. the Center talks about wild lagoons, wise men, Bhagavad Gita , the beauty of home fire , the absolute beauty of loneliness and the importance of friendship and well-being with oneself

I loved everything about Alpen Retreat! Everyone I met was extremely open and kind, I couldn't have asked for a better first Worldpackers experience. I learned a lot from the owners, Elly and Wolfgang, the volunteers, and the retreat guests and I would definitely go back if I got the chance!

Amazing. It is a beautiful place with a heartwarming ambiance, amazing hosts and volunteers. I met so many lovely people that each one of them was enough to turn this experience into a great One . The nature cannot be beat. Tons of hiking trails and a breathtaking view from the lake. I worked with wonderful volunteers and the hosts (Elly and Wolfgang) were not only great but also flexible, and their son is just the cutest. I am so glad I got to spend this time in Fernspass!

We had a fantastic time at the Alpen Retreat. The volunteers, guests, and owners were all awesome people and fun to be around. The work load is light and leaves plenty of time to do things in the day. Only complaint is that we didn't get all of the days off that we were promised, but besides that we loved our time here and I would absolutely recommend.

This was my first experience through Worldpackers and it was wonderful! The location, the team of other volunteers, and the opportunities to explore nature were all absolutely fabulous! The only downside was a slight miscommunication at the start of the trip, which turned out to be quite the humorous situation! 😂 Elly and Wolfgang have truly given people an awesome opportunity to travel in a unique and meaningful way! Thank you both for letting me volunteer here, even if only for a week! I wish I had more time to offer on this trip!

Dear Elly and Wolfgang! Thank you for the amazing time you made come true by hosting us. It was a great month filled with joy, new friends, a lot of nature and fresh air and good times. We had a great trip and will for sure love to come back. The accommodations was nice, living with other volunteers but still with space for privacy. We had delicious food and happy days. Thank you! The Center is a sweet and spiritual experience in the most picturesque setting. Perfect if you love nature and the outdoors. Elly and Wolfgang are very welcoming and kind hosts who are flexible and understanding! Really the only negatives I have are based on my own preferences - bathroom is located in a separate building than the sleeping area and it's a bit isolated.
