I would like to thank Laura from the bottom of my heart for the last 2 weeks! I felt at home and was able to practise a lot of Spanish. If you want to get in touch with nature, the dogs and a traditional and simple lifestyle in Mexico, this is the perfect place! Thank you for everything and see you next time 🫶🏻

We spent 26 days with Laura, the house is right on the sea and there are 4 beautiful dogs to take care of, for the rest Laura asked to do some simple jobs around the house, the days passed very quickly unfortunately but we had the opportunity to get to know Casitas well, during our 2 free days, also visit Tajín which is an hour by bus from the village, there is also the possibility of going down the rapids with a kayak and Laura can provide you with very useful information for your trip to Mexico. An experience you absolutely must try!

We had the best time with Laura in Costa Esmeralda! Laura is amazing, so kind and thoughtful, respectful and open. The 4 dogs are amazing and so much fun. The house is located on the sea side, near a small village where you can actually sea the real life of Mexico. It is perfect if you want to relax and enjoy nature, with big walks on the beach, small manual work outside and an wonderful place to explore. I could not recommend Laura more! Thank you very much :)

Laura is so kind and friendly person, guided me and helped me a lot to finish the project together; very few work and flexible , I love the dogs very much, they are smart and adorable, nice local food and outstanding surfing with Ethan and Mamy , this is my first volunteer job and I learned a lot from it.

I stayed at the hostel for 3 weeks and greatly enjoyed my time here! Unfortunately, at the time of my stay, Laura was traveling abroad so I never got to meet her, but her son Ron and nephew German acted as my hosts and made me feel very welcome and at home here. The tasks are simple and the hours are flexible. There is plenty of time to enjoy the beach and there are even surfboards to use if you'd like! There are 4 medium-big dogs here that were a joy to be around and I especially loved taking them for walks on the beach at sunset. Overall, this was a prefect first experience!

I had a great experience at the beach house. Laura is the perfect host! She is very welcoming and made me feel at home immediately. It's a great place to see the local culture and to immerse yourself into the language - if you're looking to practice like I was. The dogs are a joy to look after and each have their own distinctive personality - me encantaron! The daily tasks were in no way arduous and I had plenty of free time to travel a bit and see a bit more of that part of the country - the pyramids in Tajin being a highlight. If you stay here, you're going to feel welcomed and involved.

I stayed for almost two weeks at Laura's place. It had a wonderful time. Laura made sure you felt comfortable. I enjoyed the walk with the dogs twice a day and the delicious food we made for lunch. You get to know each other better and better. ❤️😊

Laura is a very kind and generous host. The tasks were easy enough- (painting, light housekeeping, dog walking) and there was a lot of time to do as you please. I enjoyed being outside every day and that it was not a big tourist destination. A great place to be if you love seafood, sun, and the ocean.

I had a wonderful time at Congrejo the hostel. Laura has such a warm and welcoming personality that made me feel at home right away. The daily tasks mostly consisted of dog walking and yard work. Laura gave me a fun task that was tailored to my background in architecture which was awesome! This is a great place to practice Spanish and feel immersed in the local culture.

We loved staying with Laura, Costa Esmeralda was beautiful and it was a great way to slow down from backpacking. The dogs were just amazing and Laura was flexible on when we did our other tasks due to the heat. Lunch was the highlight of the day, we were very well fed and it was a great opportunity to get to know Laura and the other volunteers. Thank you for our first Worldpackers experience, highly recommend !
