If you want to make the most of Edinburgh during the Fringe, this hostel is no doubt a great choice! The location is excellent — street performers right outside and the city centre within walking distance, with a pleasant park nearby for reading or relaxing. Downsides: it’s often very busy, so communal areas show some wear; no laundry at weekends; and Wi-Fi was unreliable during my stay, which made remote work tricky. Still, the managers and the volunteer team are warm, helpful, and flexible with schedules, making it an overall welcoming place!

In the best location in Edinburgh, with nice people and fascinating Scotland culture, definitely worth to visit. The hostel vibe is more chill than partying, which I value a lot. Respectful and responsible manager and considerate volunteers, fair workloads and living space, highly recommended.

The time I spent here in Edinburgh could not have been better! I usually say that what makes the place are the people and thanks to Sergio and the other volunteers I was able to feel at home from the first day... it is impossible not to feel like a member of the family. Furthermore, all the guests were pleasant and the structure is excellent. The work for some may seem heavy for those who are not used to the cleaning routine. Furthermore, they respect the service hours. I would definitely go back without thinking twice!

This was my first volunteer, but it turned out to be one of the best experiences of my life. I extended my stay for three more months because I felt so supported by both the volunteers and the staff. I treasure unforgettable experiences with people from all over the world. I learned a lot about all. The work is easy and flexible, you just have to put in the effort. Sergio and Merche are incredible as managers, but even more so as people. They're like the parents of the hostel. They take care of you and will do everything possible to make you feel good; I love them so much 😭😭❤️‍🩹 100% recomm
